We went there with another couple and none of us had previously tried Indonesian food so we thought it was a good place to start. Some reviews had questioned the service but that aspect didn't disappoint. We received very friendly and attentive service throughout the evening.
We ordered rijsttafel for four people and two other dishes to share for all; ikan bali (mackerel in a spicy sauce wrapped in a leaf) and daging besengek (beef with crushed Macedonian nuts [we'd never heard of this nut and thought it might be a misspelling of macadamia nuts but they didn't taste or look like it so...?] and various spices). It was all served simultaneously like we asked for. The table was full of food and everything was presented well.
The mackerel was fantastic but not as hot as I had expected but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. I highly recommend this dish and the accompanying salad complimented it. The beef was incredibly tender and tasty and it really set up the rijsttafel.
Since I'm not knowledgeable on the rijsttafel I can only encourage everyone to try it and discover it on your own. Rijsttafel minahasa is separated starting with mild, then medium to spicy (although I didn't find any of the dishes particularly spicy) and enjoyed it in that order although everyone else just mixed it up.
We enjoyed Heineken and San Pellegrino throughout the meal and all very satisfied afterwards. I'll definitely try it again.
The only caveat of the experience was an annoying screeching sound from the door whenever it was opened.
