“Excellent location and use of host's bikes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

Just a quick note to thank our host, Frank for lending us two bikes for the day to expand our explorations of Amsterdam. The rest of his B&B was perfect - clean, quiet, and well-supplied. Note that the stairs up to the breakfast room are very steep - probably typical for Amsterdam's narrow buildings.

Room Tip: Ground floor room avoids the steep stairs.

Sorry for the late review - just back in NZ
We were made most welcome by Frank . The delightful apt is in a charming area of Amsterdam within easy walking district to the CBD & not too far from Anne Franks House.
Our apt was up some stairs ( if mobility a problem ) - it was tastefully decorated, clean, light ,airy & quiet . . My husband had the best sleep he had had in the 2 weeks we had been already in Europe ! Plenty of restaurants in very close proximity .We went to a most delicious Thai one on the next street back running parallel to the wee street the apt is in - absolutely yummy food & lovely sweet staff. A good breakfast was provided & there was free WIFi. Frank is an excellent, accomodating & English speaking host . I accidentally left my camera there & Frank sent it on with no cost to us which was so very kind & generous - so a big Thank you Frank !!

Our large room was on the main floor and even had a small private patio. Frank made us feel welcome. The kitchen is well stocked for a great start to the day.
The beds were very comfortable. The room is very clean. There is a small fridge in the room to keep your personal food items. Can't think,of a single improvement to be made. Ask Frank for restaurant recommendations. He has lots and each was well priced and delicious

Thank you for your hospitality!

Room Tip: The room on the second floor would be challenging for anyone with mobility issues or large luggage...

2 couples spent 2 nights at the B&B occupying both rooms. The host waited for us (we arrived quite late.) The rooms are clean and spacious. The one upstairs has a better bathroom but one has to carry the suitcases up the stairs (10-15 steps). It's also next to the kitchen but it wasn't a problem for us. The room downstairs had a sink inside a bedroom (it's a very old Dutch house) and there wasn't much light in that corner (another excuse not to shave for 2 days.) Other than that everything was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked, breakfast is self-served but you can use the kitchen all day long. The location is perfect, feels very safe and clean, we walked everywhere including the museum quarter (30 minutes along the canal.) I would not recommend living any closer to the city center unless you like the seedy crowds.
We would definitely stay there again.
Thank you.
P.S. Do not bring your car to Amsterdam, it nothing more than a headache.

We were made very welcome , Frank is a lovely man who takes pride in his house and business. Very clean, in a lovely part of Amsterdam close to canals, restaurants, bars. The Ann Frank house is only a 5-10 min walk , make sure you book on line before you go, you can then bypass the massive queue and walk straight in. Frank thanks again we will be back.

Room Tip: WE had the ground floor room, large, with small courtyard

Andre greeted us and made us feel so welcome, we immediately felt at home and used the kitchen to make a cup of tea. No traffic noises, large bedrooms and great showers. Not a hotel, so need to feel at ease in someone elses home, but its not a problem for anyone. Self service, but use of everything, even to make a sandwich or snack in a kitchen dedicated to guests.
Great cafes, bars, canals close by and the friendliest people in europe must be the dutch!
We spent three nights here and would definately return. The stairs are pretty steep, but you get used to it. Only criticism is towels could have been softer and some shampoo, shower gel would have been useful but minor detail.

Room Tip: Downstairs room beautiful and larger, but you have stairs to contend with for cups of tea etc. Room...

I have just come back from a weekend in Ámsterdam and André could not have made my friend and I feel more welcome! We both arrived at different times and quite late at night, but there he was waiting for us with a big smile on his face! Folks, this is NOT a hotel but 2 romos within someon's house so please inform them of your expected time of arrival as they have busy lives too. Our room was on the ground floor with all the commodities you would expect: comfy beds, powerful shower, hair dryer, fridge, satellite TV, heating..etc. The B&B is in a tiny pedestrianised Street so there is NO noise at all, and yet entertainment is just round the corner. We arrived without a hitch following the instructions on the website of how to get there from the airport. Train from airport to Ámsterdam Central was about 4.50 euros and then the tram was about 2.50. Jordaan is by far the best neighbourhood to stay in if you don't want to be surrounded by loud tourists. The área is so pretty and you get a glimpse of true Dutch life here, but still only a 10-15 minute walk into the centre. After a wonderful 1st night's sleep, we went upstairs to the kitchen for breakfast. WOW! It was so quaint and there was absolutely every kind of food and drink you could want, all laid out perfectly. We only had breakfast there as we wanted to try many different restaurants for lunch and dinner, but André said we had access 24 hours a day. Cereal, bread, eggs, ham, cheese, tomatoes, beer, juice, coffee, tea...etc. André is such a warm-hearted guy and we were delighted that he came and entertained us with stories of his life while we ate breakfast. I just can't recommend this place enough. It really was so much better tan a hotel. No restricting breakfast times, just a warm atmosphere.
