This B&B is so comfortable and the breakfast arrangements allow you to get up and eat when you like. Very chilled out- like being at home! Great care to detail, friendly, helpful hosts and a great location in the Jordaan with lots of lovely bars and restaurants. I may have stayed here a few times!!!

This was an excellent choice of accommodation for our three night stay. We were made to feel really welcome. Our room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and with a comfortable king size bed. We particularly liked the informal and relaxed atmosphere and having the use of the kitchen whenever we wanted was a great idea. Frank was so friendly and helpful and made us feel very much at home.
The location was excellent, only being a short walk from the station and near to lots of interesting shops, cafes and restaurants. In spite of this, it was very quiet with no noise at all at night.
We would highly recommend WestViolet.

We normally stay in hotels for city breaks, but wanted a different experience for our second time in Amsterdam. We did not regret our decision in choosing WestViolet.

The location was perfect for our chill out break. It's walkable from the station and in the area of Jordaan, which is laid back and obviously within the canals.
The room was large, taking up the whole floor downstairs, front to back. At the back was a tiny outside area accessed by your room, that you can have a cigarette. The best bit for me was the huge and very comfortable bed.
Frank does a fantastic job of making sure your every need is catered for and the whole stay was stiff competition for any hotel. The only thing that would stop me saying it was better than any hotel was the bathroom. It is ensuite, but it is kind of a lean too and it was very cold. It is total practicality over anything else, with a shower that worked well, and a toilet. The sink is at your kitchenette area in the main room. So, nothing wrong with the function, but I like my bathroom experience to be comfortable and warm.

The kitchen was well stocked and we never went hungry or got bored of seeing what different things we could try for breakfast. There is everything you need and more. Look out for the wifi code on the kitchen wall.

We enjoyed our stay very much and were left feeling that many hotels could take a leaf out of Franks book. He has a very good concept of running a B&B. I just wish the bathroom was a bit more and we would never stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, one up and one down, The stairs are as steep as you would imagine them to...

Stayed here for 3 fantastic nights . The room is spotlessly clean and we were welcomed by Andre who looked after us so well throughout our stay . We stayed on the first floor and felt at home straight away - the well stocked kitchen was adjacent and we helped ourselves to cereals , toast , cheese , ham ,eggs tea and coffee etc at all times of the day . The area of Jordaan is safe and friendly and contains many lovely bars cafes and restaurants . The icing on the cake was the hospitality of Andre - he lent us his bikes without charge , he brought us fresh croissants early in the morning and he even bought us some beer !!! Thanks again Andre we will definitely be back and would recommend this to anyone

We just spent 5 nights here and it was great.Frank was away at the beginning but his partner was an excellent substitute. We arrived early morning in the rain and he welcomed us with coffee and the loan of large umbrellas. Our room was large, clean and serviced regularly. The 24hr availability of food in the kitchen was amazing. We could access fruit, bread, buns, cheese, bacon and eggs, juice at any time. The host asked what we would like him to get for us from the supermarket. He went out for fresh croissants early every morning. There are lots of guidebooks and free internet access We like the area the house is in as it is more suburban and less touristy than other places and very quiet. Once we got our sense of direction, we realised it is close to many places. Tram is 5 mins walk, station is 20mins walk. There are restaurants and a bakery in the next street. The local Sat street market is amazing. We thoroughly recommend this home.

Room Tip: Either room would be fine

An apartment was absolutely great, comfortable and very clean. Fresh bagels brought by host Frank every morning. Our first floor apartment had a lovely balcony facing the inner garden. The district of Jordan - fabulous, full of galleries, boutiques, all kinds of restaurants..really different atmosphere comparing with the touristic centre.
Would sincerely recommend this place.

Located in a lovely old house in a quiet neighbourhood with shops and cafes just around the corner. We stayed in the room on the first floor - which was really large, clean and comfortable. Frank, the owner, was very friendly and helpful with suggestions and directions. The kitchen is always available and stocked with basics - and Frank brings in fresh bakery items in the morning! We highly recommend the WestViolet, but there are only two rooms - so book early!
