“Pleasantly surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

We decided to go for teppanyaki with some friends and we were not disappointed! After reading a couple of reviews before getting there I was a bit worried but those soon disappeared once the food arrived. We opted for the Tokyo Menu, which was plentiful, but not to the detriment of the quality of ingredients. Slightly on the pricey side, this restaurant just about makes it a 4/5 but it is more a 3.7.

“Great for a family celebration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

We had a family meal to celebrate our son's birthday. Andy and Jaqueline made it a fantastic night. The service by Jaqueline and her team was first class, Andy the chef cooked lovely food and we had just the nicest evening. Do not recognise any of the negative comments in other reviews. We would recommend wholeheartedly. Thanks for a great night.

“Better than expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

Was a little bit worried before I went as I had read some of the more recent reviews, however, my fears were unfounded.

The table was full, which was a good sign. We were able to pick 4 types of food per person per round. One of the problems during the dinner was that for the first and last rounds they did not cook on the stove in front of our table, they seemed to have a bigger focus on the other half which annoyed us. We had no explaination given even after multiple requests from different people as to why and for the last round we had a different chef and we had no idea why this was the case.

The wait staff were great, friendly and helpful always coming around to ask us if we needed anything. The food was delicious fresh and yummy and we were full after we had finished.

We would certainly go back, but next time we would make sure that they cooked in front of us next time.

“what happend?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

well, maybe since 5 years i enjoy frequently this place and this time was the first i was disappointed!

we read the several entries here about the restaurant but decide to make our own opinion after being always happy here:

they still serve the lovely menus, just all you can eat is another option, maybe cause most restaurants around started with that terrible art of eating!

we where seated as wished a bit in front, the two of us together with a group of five. at the beginning it takes to long, just the appetizer takes almost 30min and slow it continues with the menu with the courses coming from the kitchen - wakamesalad, a typical miso soup, sashimi beef on onions. to followed tepan cocked lamp and teriaki chicken was as it should be and great to eat (very good as usual) but after that it changed. the fried rice boring, unfinished meat and vegetables served for all of us and prepared with garlic with no ending!

compared with other visits we recognize a missing of staff, waiters and cooks - the poor guy had to do two tables and seconds order of drinks took time too.

after all the food for that price on international level mesured is still not expensive, just really a pity that the quality and cooking goes so much down! we would wish the rise the prices up and bring the art of cocking back as 2-3 years ago when a bit of fried egg flew from the plate in your mouth, or the flambe goes over the cooking plate to the meat. i thought i was in theater, not just dinning.

so hopefully changing back to the roots please!

“Much better than feared”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

After reading a couple of the more recent very critical reviews, we were a bit suspicious but it turned out to be quite good. We had our own table with a japanese chef who knew his kitchen skills and the food was quite good. We had a pretty extensive menu. The restaurant does not have a Japanese feel, and the staff apart from the chefs are not Japanese. The over all quality was okey and you do nothing wrong in chooosing a teppanyaki meal here. However compared to a true Japanese teppanyaki, this was not completely up to standards.
