“Mixed Fajitas in busy evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

Fresh strawberry margarita is allways good for a starter. I ordered Fajitas and it was good. Meaby more speiced versuion would be more to my liking. One thing I was wondering in Amsterdam ? Why there is Argentinian restaurant every 20 meter ?

“Burritos to go.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2012

The restaurant is nicer inside then it looks from the outside, do not be put off by the outside. Plus it is not in the busiest area so one might think its a dive. The staff was friendly. We took our food to go and the burritos were good. A little salty, but delicious. The burritos themselves were a little small, but they were all chicken! The rice and beans were on the side with salad. Nachos, salsa and guac were good as well. The burrito plate seemed expensive at €15+ each, but that seemed to be the going rate in AMS.

“Horrible experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2012

The “Tio Pepe” is more a nightmare for your stomach and your sense of taste than a Tex - Mex Steak House. The restaurant in itself has a quite sad image, but sometimes you find excellent food in bad looking restaurants. Do not worry this is not the case. As I wanted to eat some Tex – Mex and because Tio Pepe is very closed to my Hotel, I decided to go for it and to try the “Mexican fajtas” the special dish of the house.
I love Tex – Mex food, especially fajtas, to be very honest that was not food but true rubbish. The fajitas were tender as Alcatraz Rock and tasty as an old pair of used sockets. There are no words really…22,50 Euro for such a rubbish food. I just pay the bill, leaving almost all the fajtas, and I switched to Toro Dorado to find a Scottish Black Angus Beef able to cancel even the memory of Tio Pepe fajitas from my mouth. Do not waste your money, do not eat in Tio Pepe. Maye I chose the wrong evening but I will never come back again!

What a little gem! We had nachos, burrito and fajitas and the food was delicious. Highly recommend and reasonably priced.

“Good for a group”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2011

The food was well cooked, not 'blow your socks off' impressive but not bad. Service was friendly, and other diners were chatty and sociable. Central location, but approach it from the right end of Spuistrasse - I approached from the wrong end and was 15 mins late to meet my group as it is a VERY long street! Interesting though, plenty of sights.
