Betty's is a very exciting restaurant to visit. No menu, you get what has been prepared. As life long vegetarians, we were excited at the prospect of a "fine dining" vegetarian experience when we visited Amsterdam.
The host is superb, and so enthusiastic about the herbs and spices they use in preparing the dishes. Because of that personal attention, it can take a while for food to be served to the table, but if you are aware of that in advance, and don't expect it to be "fast food", then you'll be fine. I'd recommend booking earlier in the evening to mitigate any delays.
Our only comment is that for us, far too much food was served at each course. When each course was served, that dish that would have been plenty in itself, but at the same time a huge plate of salad or vegetables was served as an accompaniment..Now I know the Dutch like to eat large meals, but for us it was too much, and somewhat detracted from the "fine dining" experience. We had so much to eat, we had to skip desert, which was a real shame as they looked fantastic.
We would go back, but would not eat lunch on that day!!!!
