“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

It rained all day. Picked this restaurant close to our hotel (Casa 400). It was Sunday and there was no menu. Only what the chef was preparing. Our choice was three, four, five, or six courses. The food was fabulous, service was outstanding, and the ambiance was perfect. Each course we had the staff pair our wine. Off all the restaurants we tried in Amsterdam this was by far our favorite.

“Rising star”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Although this restaurant has been around for a while, it seems to be 'growing' strongly lately.

Beautiful venue, with nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable.

Excellent menu, great dishes, surprising wines, good value. On its way to a *?

PS: in the basement is a large - yet intimate - beautiful room for private parties. Check it out!

“A new pearl in Amsterdam”

This restaurant, which a little outside the centre of Amsterdam, has a huge winecellar, good friendly staff and superb food. The menu is a surprise you don't want to miss!

“Too precious for my taste”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I confess to a bias: I don't care for restaurants where the servers have to explain how to eat each course. I never went to El Bulli, but I would gladly submit to that experience if offered up by a genius or at least a major talent. But in the hands of almost anyone else, it simply doesn't work. I was taken there for a business dinner, but the food was not good enough to be the center of attention, which it would have to be, since the multiple courses (a 5-course tasting menu) and the explanations of each course make sustained conversation impossible. Since I was a guest, I didn't see the bill, but it clearly was at the upper end of any scale. I don't mind spending 3+ hours at dinner if the company is very convivial, but again the necessarily intrusive service made that kind of conviviality all but impossible. The food was not bad, but not especially memorable. A scant 2 months after I was there I can remember nothing I ate, apart from the cheese chariot, which had a truly impressive selection, largely Dutch. All in all, I would not go back.

“Beautiful meal in beautiful surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

This is a really well decorated restaurant that serves excellent food. We wne for the chef's menu and took pot luck, but we were lucky. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and tasy. This is not a restaurant for people who like big portions but for peoplewho are interested in food. Pleasant service. It is not cheap but your are paying for craftmanship.
