We had tried to make a reservation for dinner here, but were informed that they do not take reservations. Having read the reviews on Tripadvisor, and all the great reviews, we thought it was not to be missed and we would just head there early.
We arrived at the restuarant at about 7:50pm, and the place was already choca block, and had 4 couples waiting at the bar. The waitress (who was really great) said just take a seat at the bar and enjoy some drinks. Like some did after us, we could have left, but just loved the feel of the place and the food we had seen looked great. We had 2 or 3 drinks at the bar and then our table was ready (prob about a 45 minute wait).
As people have said before, there is no menu given to you. Instead the waiter will come over and give you the details. Whilst this is ok if the place is not too busy, it can be a bit of a pain when you wait 10 minutes or so for the waiter to come over. As my wife and I said, at least having a menu to look at, almost gives you something to do, and makes you less aware of time. Personally I think it adds to the charm of the restaurant, and after 3 drinks at the bar, the wife and I were happily chatting away, so didn't notice the time anyway.
The meal itself was very enjoyable, has to be one of the nicest pates I have had. And the steak for the main was delicious. My wife had desert, which I managed to sneak a few forkfuls, and this too was enjoyable.
The restaurant is small, so do get there early. There were still people turning up at 9:30, and had a lot of locals in it. This is always a good sign, and as long as you are not in a rush, you will enjoy this place.
