“Excellent Thai in Amsterdam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

After our 2 hour bike tour - we were hungry! We found Take Thai and it was great! Small restaurant / may need to call ahead or go early. There were 8 of us and we ordered many different dishes - all were good!

“Over price and below average Thai Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We are from Los Angeles and know what Thai food at a tourist town should at least tasted like. This is no where even close. The seating was narrow and the food is just subpar for the price it charges (EU $25 on average dinner menu). There are better choices even though this is an above-average expensive city for dining experience.

“stunningly flavourful thai food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

the restaurant is hard to find as it doesn't make a fuss and you hardly see the name on the window as you search. when you go in, its v simple and the only thing I wasn't keen on is how close together tables are, but then it is a small space and I guess needs must!

however all he staff is v friendly and efficient and the food just superb. home made crackers and a sweet sauce arrive 1st, and the chilled house wine (very good, dry and crisp) & chilled water.

my husband had delicious crab cakes, very delicate crab and a crispy outer layer, and I had a satay that was delicious - a selection of meat and fish skewers with a rich peanut sauce. the meat and fish were very well grilled and flavoured, tender and just enough to leave plenty of room for a main.

we then had gorgeous fried rice, steamed rice and we both chose green chicken curry. the chicken was real - not tasteless supermarket stuff but tender and really tasting right - and the sauce perfect, packed with so many but well balanced flavours and just enough oomph.

we had no room to try anything else, but did see many around us eating one of the menus for 2 or a group and they looked lovely too. if we get to go again, we will try one

highly recommend going here and to book as its v v busy, deservedly so! count on the bill being about 85 with starter/ain/house wine - we found out VAT/service is included in your bill but service charge doesn't usually get to the waiters/waitresses so people usually leave 10% cash

“Best Thai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

I have eat here every time I am in Amsterdam, maybe 12 times over the years. The pang is so good. Everything is very good. It is a bit expensive but worth it. Underrated in my opinion
