Description: One of Amsterdam's most remarkable restaurants, situated on the 23rd floor of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, the Ciel Bleu Restaurant has been awarded two Michelin stars and, much like the adjacent Twenty Third Bar, offers a stunning panoramic view of Amsterdam's city centre. This breathtaking vista and the luxurious design, together with the personal hospitality, all combine to create a unique atmosphere. The Ciel Bleu Restaurant's ambitious kitchen staff serve a unique take on French cuisine, prepared with seasonal products and characterised by its innovation. The Sommelier's professionalism and close cooperation with Executive Chef and Manager Onno Kokmeijer results in a perfect harmony between wine and food. The Ciel Bleu Restaurant also offers three luxurious private areas: the Starlight Room, the Salon Panoramique, and the Chef's Table in the restaurant's kitchen.

“Living up to expectations of two Michelin stars”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

A great eating experience! This is a very good restaurant which at our visit did live up to our expectations and the expectations that two Michelin stars set.
Food was excellent the choices of wine to the set menu we chose was outstanding. The presentation of the food nice, and the lust for experimental cooking and kitchen chemistry well moderated.
The restaurant is set on the 23rd floor of the Okura hotel with a wonderful view over Amsterdam.
Still it was not flawless, the washing of at least to of the used wine glasses was not up to standards, the glasses smelled after washing detergent which really influenced the taste of the wine. The concept of the restaurant is that every server should wait on every table, which consequently made one of the servers to talk Dutch to us though at that time it must have been obvious that don't speak a word of the language.
This is a nice place to go for a nice meal though expensive not overpriced, good value for money. We will return.

“wonderfull”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

The restaurant is situated on the top floor of the Okura hotel, which offers splendid views on Amsterdam. Staff is very professional without having the 'stiff upper lip'. We had the 8-course menu + cheese ans we were surprised more than once by the presentation and the delicious flavours of the dishes. Winelist is extensive but mainly French and Italian and a bit overpriced. A must do experience when in Amsterdam!

“Excellent experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

This was the best Michelin restaurant I have ever visited. Good staff (but a little bit young and inexperienced maybe), fantastic food well worth the prices. Amazing port and sherry. However, one glass was not properly washed and gave a bad taste to the wine. There were several different staff that served us, and some of them talked Dutch with us even though we don´t talk Dutch.
To sum up, a really nice restaurants even though not completely flawless. Well worth visiting again.
