“Many tourists don't know this gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

Probably one of the best museums I have ever visited. Interesting, fun and inspiring.
Disappointed by the long line of people in front of the Van Gogh Museum, we jumped into this friendly-looking building. The ticket may seem expensive (14,50 euros) but a drink and a couple of shots from the Bols selection are included. I learned so much from the visit attractions, for example that I don't pay enough attention to smells and scents: the visitor is challenged to identify a high number of different essences, from the green banana to the grape fruit. Even the various ingredients of the famous Genever are presented and explained. A number of objects related to history, production and marketing of the company is shown with a great taste. And of course a very satisfying part of the tour, as a fan, is the drinking experience: you can browse among various recipes, choose yours and drink a well deserved cocktail at the bar.
Also, never underestimate the power of the museum shop (try guess what's its proposal). Absolutely recommended.

“interesting & informative”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

Not being a big fan of cocktails I wasn't really up for this visit - the tour was very interesting providing a history of bols - there is an interactive room for you to try and guess the flavours - at the end there is an opportunity to design your own cocktail - the barman was very knowledgeable and keen to chat - overall a good experience

“Interactive and interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Not too mentally challenging, but a nice mix of history and product information. The smell and taste interactive displays were fun, and the cocktails at the end were very good. I was very impressed with the bar tender who assisted me, Frank, and with the young woman who assisted me in the store. The store includes the spirits, but also high quality bar and glass ware. The tour price was a little high for the displays, but the drinks and samples at the end made up for it. Definitely go with a group and have fun.

“Good!”

Just takes a hour or so, but worth the wander and good value with cocktail and two shots. It is a fun way to spend an hour.

“Incredible - a must visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

The tour was interesting, particularly the ability to smell all 36 of their bottlings and handle the ingredients of their genever. The bar and tastings afterwards sealed the deal.
