“Absolutely the best!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This Fall, 2013 I will be spending another month in this wonderful apartment. I wrote a review last year, but for some reason it didn't get posted. So, here it is again... In the Fall of 2012 I stayed for a month in the Haarlemeerdijk apt and LOVED it. Located just a 10 min walk from Central Station, at the crossroads of the Prinsengracht and at the edge of the Jordaan.....Albert Heijn and cheese store just across the street. The Haarlemeerkdijk is an terrific shopping street packed with eclectic shops, eateries and a movie theater. The apartment is the best. Busy by day and incredibly quiet at night. Comfy bed, great cooking area, wonderful tiled bathroom, tv and wireless. Spotlessly clean with everything a person would need. Ton and Hector are awesome hosts...helpful and accommodating in every way. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a perfect base for exploring Amsterdam.. !. The other locations are equally as wonderful and I am sure you would be happy with any of the locations...Thank you Ton and Hector!!!

We initially tried to book the canal house along Lijnbaansgracht but someone had already booked during our travel dates so Hector and Ton offered us the one bedroom apartment in Haarlemmerdijk in the Jordaan area instead. We booked it and fell in love with it.

Easily navigated and within walking distance from the Amsterdam Centraal Station (even with luggage and children) so both arriving and departing by train are not a problem especially if you plan to do day trips to the other cities as we did. The stairs are a bit steep but I gather that this is the norm throughout. We travel relatively light so this was not a problem to navigate. The apartment had just been vacated but we were able to leave our luggage and get the keys as soon as we got into the city. It was very clean, kitchen was complete, linens and towels were clean. They accept credit cards so payment of the balance was very fast and easy. We had no complaint whatsoever.

The location is absolutely perfect. There is a supermarket across the street and two others several meters away wether you turn to the right or left. Bread and cheese shop at the corner. Fantastic variety of fresh ground coffee beans from the quaint shop a block away to the right. Herring shop a few doors away. Laundromat also very close. A whole lot of restaurant choices. You may not have a view of the canal but these are all nearby. Our whole family would love to stay here again. (Pictures uploaded)

Recent reviews pretty much say it all - very clean, well equipped and fantastic location. We stayed in the top floor apartment in the Haarlemmerdijk. Two supermarkets within minutes, countless bars and restaurants, great location to wander around the canals. Stairs are steep and narrow, but owners are happy to help with luggage. Very friendly service, we were able to get the keys at 9.30 in the morning, very much appreciated after a long flight from Oz. No hesitation at all to recommend these apartments. Small tip - the Indonesian takeaway down on the Prinsengracht (past Westerstraat on the right side looking south) is excellent!

Room Tip: Bedroom is at the back, so no problem with street noise.

We stayed at the Haarlemmerdijk apartment for a week in May, 2013. In many trips abroad, we had never rented an apartment. Hector and Ton responded promptly and completely to my many questions and emails. Ton was gracious in accommodating our arrival and payment choices. The unit was immaculate, spacious, the bed comfortable, the kitchen totally equipped. Though a busy street, evenings were peacefully quiet. A full service supermarket and a great bakery are directly across the street, and restaurants, cafes and ATM nearby. Very convenient to the Centraal Station and all city sightseeing. Would recommend without hesitation for a visit to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Did the other unit have an outdoor space? I'll check next time...hope to return soon.

Would definitely rent here again if I were going back to Amsterdam. It's in a great location in the Museum quarter, is extremely clean, the beds are VERY comfortable & the kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need; the cava on arrival was a treat! The one thing I really liked was that we had utter privacy - it was like staying in our own house for the weekend.

Would recommend!

Room Tip: Canal facing room

We spent 4 nights in a studio apartment. The apartment was well fitted and kitted out. Plenty of utensils for preparing and cooking meals and there was a supply of cooking oil, tea, coffee, milk, all the basics and even a welcome bottle of champagne.
The owners were very friendly and we were made to feel very at home. Ton was very engaging and was more than happy to answer our questions and make suggestions on what to do in Amsterdam. He helped us with our luggage and provided a map showing, supermarkets, pharmacy and laundry etc.
Wifi was fast and didn't drop out at all. There are english speaking channels available on the tv.
Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and centrally heated.
The apartment is situated close to the museum district and there is a multitude of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. The only downside was we got a bit of street noise on 2 of the nights but you get that in any big city.
As with most properties in Amsterdam the stairs are steep and narrow but they are well lit and can be negotiated without too much difficulty.

The only thing we found to be not to our liking was the lack of a shower screen/curtain. The water from the shower went out onto the bathroom floor/toilet and had to be cleaned up with a window scraper that had been supplied for this purpose.

One of the best apartments we have stayed in during recent travels. Thoroughly recommended.

We love visiting Amsterdam and now that we have found Prinx would never stay anywhere else. It's lovely to have the freedom from a hotel, the apartments are clean, attractive and have everything you need. The location is great for visiting museums, eating out and finding public transport when necessary.

Room Tip: The room at the front is slighlty more spacious and has a view of the canal.
