“Good hotel, not best location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

The hotel was good, staff excellent, very helpful and as with most of the Dutch, spoke perfect English. I was on 10th floor for so had a good view of the area. Room v good, very clean, had problem with the safe but that was fixed quickly by the helpful staff. Some areas of the hotel looked a little tired. Breakfast was hectic to say the least, must have hit it at peak time because there were no tables free and the staff flat out. The hotel is quite a way out of the city(20 mins or so) so it's a tram ride in and I had bus back, that could put some off. The tram and bus stop were just around the corner though. There were no noises in the hotel during the night so I had a good nights rest. For me, if I went to Amsterdam again, I would find somewhere nearer the city, it's all about location. John jenkins

Room Tip: Get room on 10th floor

I stayed for a couple of nights at this place. Very close to the public transport and just 30 minutes from Schipol airport. Visit if you want a good nights sleep in a clean hotel. You will not regret your decision!

Room Tip: Dont take a room in the 11th floor. You need to climb another floor via stairs. Elevator till the 10...

Spacious (executive) room with a bathroom having large windows to 2 sides of the building. Magnificent city view! Comfortable, clean room. Good (free) WiFi. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Also quick check-in and out routine. Good and complete breakfast for a reasonable price(€10) . Good parking facilities direct to the hotel, and also very reasonable (€12 a day in large (&safe) parking garage) Not directly to the center, but good public transportation is very close. The area can be intimidating for some. In the evening there are lot of groups of youngsters hanging around with a bit threatening attitude. But overall a very pleasant stay at location what's not called the best part of town.

Room Tip: Choose an executive room at one of the top floors. They are spacious and have magnificent views to...

Very dated rooms but very nice furniture. Beds were comfortable and it was clean. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable and clean. You get a nice view on the top floors. The neighbourhood is a bit creepy and full of suspect people but there is a little convenience store next door. I personally am not a fan of Deutsch food so that was a bonus. One member of staff was rude and very unhelpful but the rest were very nice. The tram stop is outside, number 14 tram takes you into central Amsterdam, conveniently for Anne Frank Huis. There is also a bus that takes you directly to the Main train station. I would not stay at this hotel again personally purely because of the rude staff member.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Reception was extremely friendly! Gave me lots of useful information for getting around Amsterdam. The room was compact with everything you could possible need. Had a really good nighrs sleep on the bed, extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean and luxurious. Overall a great short stay. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are more spacious.

3,5 stars if possible

+ clean, comfy beds, good AC, pretty nice view on top floors
- lots of weird people in neighbourhood and hotel guests, check in en out process was slow due to one person staffing and answering calls first

Room Tip: get a room on higher floors, view is pretty good

Yes the Hotel is out of the centre, but only 15 - 20 mins on the Tram or Bus which are every 10 mins and you get to see more of the city too. The 3 day travel passes are great, get one from the Train station. Don't spend 40 euro's for airport transfer, get a train from the airport to Sloterdijk Railway station and then bus 15 to Bos en lommerplein (1 stop) - 6 euro's total, so simple and about 30 mins in total. The Hotel is very good, reception staff were all very helpful and nice. Rooms are spacious & clean, with dark rosewood furnishings which is different for a chain hotel. Worst thing about room & hotel is the temperature/air conditioning, won't go below 18 degrees! Asked for a fan at front desk which solved the problem! Breakfast was good and served up to 11, so no need to rush if you don't want to! Loads of shops and supermarkets in the local to if you need something. Safe area, even at night time! Would definately stay again if in the city.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet, but go high for a view of the city floor 7 - 9
