The location is great if you don't want - or can't - stay in downtown Amsterdam. It is close to the public transportation (less than 200m to tram, metro, and trains), yet quiet enough to sleep well at night (no traffic, good sound isolation). The design of the interiors is eye-catching but not overwhelming. The staff was very friendly, rooms and common spaces were clean and neat. Two aspects which truly stand out are the beds (large and comfortable), and the quality of the WiFi network which was excellent.

Myself and my partner went in 2014 and cannot fault this hotel one bit.

On arrival, it was a struggle to navigate our way around Amsterdam, but with the help of my mobile we were at the hotel within the hour.

Easy to get to from the city centre via tram - the total journey is about 15 minutes. We did walk it one day and it took us about an hour, but it was a lovely, clean and safe walk.

Admittedly, the reviews on this site put me off immensely, however, those worries were soon gone on arrival; the reception was impeccable.

A very friendly member of staff welcomed us and let us leave our luggage there for the day (as check in was at 3pm).

After trawling the streets of Dam we returned at around 3.30pm to check out the room and what a lovely surprise.

I had requested a room with a windom on our original booking, and it was lovely.

The room was just the right size, had a huge window and a very comfortable bed.

A lot of people on here are concerned about the fact that the bathroom has no door, however we did not find this a problem as any 'number 2's' could be done in the public bathrooms that were outside the lifts on every floor.

The room was lovely and clean, and i can definately say that we got a lot more than we were expecting for our money!

I would reccommend the window rooms in this hotel to anyone i know (i cannot pass judgement on the windowless).

Room Tip: Request a room with a window - even though these rooms look out onto a business park, it is still so...

We have a good stay here, perfect location from Schiphol airport, just one stop away. Very easy to take the tram in to city, takes about 15 min. We stayed in a Basic room. The bed is amazing! Rooms are very quiet, no one was working in the WTC in the weekends! For a quick stay in Amsterdam this was excellent. Ps. If you have a issue with no door on the bathroom, there is toilets next to the elevators on each floor =), for us this was no problem. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff! Breakfast was a suprise, we expected a lot less!

Stayed in this hotel in January 2015 and all the staff were really helpful, the hotel itself was really nice, although the location was a little out the way the metro and tram stops were right outside and adds to the overall Amsterdam experience travelling

5* would visit again.

The style and layout of the room and hotel itself, reminded me of a cluster of art installations. From the custom coloured mood lighting above the bed to the statuesque sculptures and squeaky linoleum floors of the foyer, the Qbic hotel definitely satiated the appetite of the modern tourist or commuter. My criticisms include the lack of a bathroom door in our room, the dirt and grime at the side of the bed plus the fact that the double bed was just 2 single beds pushed together. The lack of attention to these small details made what would otherwise have been a well thought through, innovative 10 out of 10 room, a 5 or a 6. Although, I would stay here again.

Hi there,

We are very sorry to hear that your experience with our hotel has not been as expected.
Our hotel is situated in a office building (WTC). The entire floors are purpose build for the Qbic Hotel.
Regarding the privacy in the bathroom, there is no door in the bathroom as you mentioned, but you are free to use the restrooms in front of the elevator which are on every floor.
It’s terrible to hear that the cleanliness of the room was not up to the Qbic standard, we will make sure this doesn’t happen again.
We hope to see you again, so we can prove what a Qbic experience really is.

Kind regards,
Josine Vendrik

Stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend. It was easy to get to from Schipol airport and was right by station Zuid which meant we had fantastic access to Central Amsterdam via metro, tram and bus! It took about 10 minutes to reach central on the metro and 10 minutes on a train from the airport.

The Hotel: We were checked in quickly by a very friendly staff member who was happy to answer our questions. A nice breakfast was available with all your standard foods on offer (no full English, just eggs and cold meat) and there was free wifi and access to computers if needed.

The Room: We stayed in a superior double room. It was very warm (like a sauna) when we arrived but the staff kindly turned the heating down for us! The bed was incredibly comfy and came with some fancy mood lighting which looked pretty. Word of warning - the bathroom is open plan so there is no door! This is fine if you're comfortable with the person you're staying with but if you like your privacy then this probably isn't the hotel for you! Shower was nice, everything was clean and fresh. No problems.

Overall it was a nice and pleasant stay, very quiet. only complaint would be that we did get woken up one morning by the sound of building work outside our window but this stopped after a few minutes.

I would stay again.

Room Tip: I'd recommend paying that little bit more and getting a superior room. The basic rooms are very...

Hi,

Thank you for this detailed review. with a major public transport hub just around the corner you will be in the city centre and airport in no-time like you mentioned.
The hotels breakfast is basic, but does give you an healthy start of the day, so you can start exploring amsterdam. The beds are from renowned brands like; Hästens and Eastborn, thus ensuring you a good nights sleep. All our rooms have moodlighting, some of them even give you the option to change the colours.
We hope to see you again some time soon.

Stayed in the Amsterdam Qbic for 2 nights on business. Very close to Amsterdam Sud Train station so well connected, but a little out of the city centre. Is located within the WTC complex which is little unusual. Apart from Burger King the surround restaurants all close before 9pm and hence the area is a little dull the evening. Breakfast is continental and suffices. Good wifi provision and beds are comfortable but a little unusual. The open plan en suite could be awkward if were staying as a couple. However, any limitations were compensated for by the friendly staff.

Hi,

Thank you for your review. The hotel is indeed located within the WTC complex which is not directly in the city centre. However with a major public transport hub just around the corner you will be in the city centre and airport in no-time. The restaurants which are near the hotel, do indeed close relatively early, but like mentioned earlier within 10min. you’ll be in hart of the city with plenty of bars/restaurants.
There are indeed no doors in the bathroom, but for a little extra privacy you can use the public restrooms, which are on every floor next time you visit.

Kind regards,
Josine Vendrik
