“Great concept, worked well for business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

I like this hotel. Space was on the small side, but not for Amsterdam or Europe for that matter. Not far from train station and this was fine for a conference I attended at RAI Center. Brought my dad and he liked it too. Good breakfast as well.

Although is located outside downtown, the train and subway station nearby allows this hotel to be 5 min from airport and also 15 minutes from downtown. Rooms are spacious and comfy, there are some facilities such as drink and food machines. Really good cost-benefit relation.

I stayed at Qbic hotel in October for 3 nights, At first I had trouble with payment but there helpful staff were quick to resolve this problem and there communication was great considering time differences and language barriers. The room was a great price. The hotel was easy to find from schilphol airport, as the trains depart from the airport. There are sprinter trains to Amsterdam Zuid station approximately 7 min train ride from the airport and its brings you straight out to the WTC's lovely tall glass buildings, you leave the station through the exit nearest to the burger king and the hotel is on your right (2 min walk) and can also be accessed from going inside the building, check in was done via a computer and was relatively easy (make sure u print off your confirmation and bring it with you as you will need either your card you paid with or reference number) we was situated on floor 2 which was difficult to find as the lift didn't have a "2" but another lodger pointed out if you pressed exit button it will take you there. There was no staff around at this time and the hotel is quite private. Whenever I saw the staff they always seemed to be cleaning which is always nice to see. The corridors to the rooms had a nice lighting effect. I has messaged the hotel prior to the visit as it was my girlfriends birthday and they had managed to decorate the room with balloons and streamers and provided us with complimentary glass of red wine each. the room was a nice size, the lighting was great and the wallpaper was great to look at. Rather funky hotel. Only thing that was strange was there wasn't a door on the bathroom but there are toilets in the hall which are lovely and clean. to get to dam square there is a tram every 15 mins or so (number 5) takes about 10/15 mins to get to central, taxis cost about 16-21 euros. There is a Starbucks, burger king and a few restaurants and shops in and around the WTC building ad vending machines in the lobby. Also as you come in to the hotel lobby there is a stand with various discounts to numerous attractions these are great and make sure you take advantage of them!! Great value for money and very fun to come back to! Not central but an ample distance and transport is great. would recommend.

I was attending at meeting at the Vrije University in Amsterdam, and they listed this as one of the hotels they recommended due to its proximity to the university. I was surprised when I saw how cheap it was, and that the pictures looked quite nice. I felt I had to investigate, so I booked myself a room.

arriving at the hotel was easy. It is close to the Amsterdam Zuid train station, which is about a minute train ride from the airport. I believe it doesn't take too long to get to the city centre from here either. Reception was informal but friendly and efficient. I got to my room and found it had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Those are perhaps the two most important things. I wasn't very impressed with the lighting. The lights were in different colours and weren't very bright. There was a window, but it was at street level, so I would have had people walking past and looking in. I therefore preferred to keep the curtains closed. The second strange thing was that the bathroom had no door. In fact, it was pretty much missing a wall and just opened into the bedroom. As I had the room to myself, this wasn't a problem. If I were sharing I would not have liked this. Call me old fashioned, but I like a bathroom to have four walls, a ceiling, floor and door (and perhaps even a window). Wasn't a problem on this occasion. I had a good night's sleep, and was overall very happy with the room. I had breakfast the next day which, while not by any means spectacular, was perfectly adequate for my needs.

All in all, I was very happy with my choice. The price was fantastic and I feel I got excellent value for money. I will stay here again if I find myself in this area.

The neighborhood is a short train ride from the airport. Easy to find, nice and quiet (as expected of a business district on a weekend arrival). Convenience store and restaurants/ bars are just around the corner, with a gym (I didn't visit) and Bodyworks exhibition a few blocks down. Tram, metro and bus stops conveniently placed around the hotel.

The room is big... and bare, with the bed + bath block taking the central spot. Another no-frills offering for those who just need to take a decent shower and a comfortable bed to lie on.

On a cold, wintry day to come to the QBIC (which is very well located for the RAI and WTC - although, it looks like an office block from the outside) you will get over the very informal reception (choose to do with or without human interaction - both are okay) and you will go to your room, play with the LED lighting and wonder why the toilet has no door.

Once you accept all of this, you enter into an unusual state of acceptance; homeliness and ease. This, QBIC (whoever you are) you should be applauded for.

Ok - so you lack a kitchen serving evening meals - but there's a plethora of restaurants close by - all serving a variety of food.

If you go regularly to Amsterdam, you just have to try a stop over a this place - you will not find much like it anywhere in our small part of the world

Room Tip: If you want to look at something interesting, as for a room on the 'outside'
