“Great B&B experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

I've gotten to a point where I just prefer B&B's when I travel. I did a little research and found this gem before heading off to Amsterdam for my first visit. I was not disappointed! This place was wonderful! Great location, amazing hosts (including Tommie), wonderful breakfast and views. I can't say enough about this place.

Before arriving, Peter and I exchanged a few emails, and he gave me advice on trains to take from Germany. Peter and Wolter were waiting for us when we arrived. We were early, but they welcomed us in right away anyway. They could not have been nicer. They even welcomed us with a champagne toast! Breakfast each day was great. The view from the breakfast room is just beautiful.

We stayed in the green room on the ground level. The accommodations were great. Our room was unique and inviting. It had a lot of character yet was updated with a recent remodel. The bathroom was very modern. The place was spotless. I really felt like they thought of and provided everything for our comfort. The room even had a nice computer with internet and a wireless printer right upstairs. It made it so easy to buy museum and train tickets (and to, sadly, print our boarding passes when it was time to depart). The bed was super comfortable, and there were even two TVs in the room.

Peter and Wolter answered all of our questions and made themselves available whenever we needed anything. They gave us some great advice on things to do (and not to do), places to see and restaurants to visit.

When it was time to leave, Wolter got up early and made us a little something before we headed out to catch the train to Brussels. He and Peter went out of their way to make our visit great, and I want to thank them for that.

I will definitely stay here during my next visit to Amsterdam, and I highly, highly recommend this B&B to everyone who is reading this. Stay here!!! You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Since the green room is on the ground level, there are no steep steps, and there's a sense of pr...

From the moment we booked, Peter (the owner) was incredibly helpful, and couldn't do enough for us, which was thoroughly refreshing to see (when compared to other hotels and B&B's). We arrived at Kamer01 quite late in the evening and Peter was there to welcome us and show us around. A much needed refreshment was provided as we went through the checking in process, which was informal and fun. The rooms were incredible - we stayed in the Blue Room on the top floor which was quirky and full of character with the most amazing circular bed and contemporary bathroom. A great deal of thought had obviously gone in to every little detail from the decor to the IMac with ITunes library and WiFi access. Breakfast was sensational, with a great deal of choice. We particularly liked being able to help ourselves to a drink or a snack at any time from the well stocked fridge. We would wholeheartedly recommend Kamer01 to anyone and will certainly be visiting again ourselves in the future. Thanks for everything - Nick & Cat!! :)

Room Tip: There is a very steep staircase to the upper floors. We didn't have a problem with this at all...

We have just returned from a three night stay - it is an excellent B&B - decorated to a very high standard. The breakfasts are delicious . Peter and Wolter are amazing hosts. We would highly recommend this place for its location, and quality. We stayed in the Green Suite.

Well so many reasons to be happy, a beautiful wife , a really beautiful city and a very private and insanely beautiful bedroom and lounge overlooking the canal , Amsterdam was a fun place very interesting lots of great food pubs and "Other Cafés" all very close by and best of all was being able to stay in such a nice place, my recommendation is to book early and confirm the Blue room if you can , even if you get another room they are all very beautiful , the blue room is on the top floor and has a great view.

The owners Peter & Walter are great blokes and are available for a chat or directions whenever you require , the breakfast is delicious and there are several other treats that are put on that you wouldn't normally get in the majority of high end establishments , so if you want a beautiful relaxed place of luxury to stay in then call or email Peter and he will take care of your booking , be quick as there are only 2 rooms in the Amsterdam B&B so it's really like having your own house in Amsterdam .... What a amazing location we will be back soon :)

I can just repeat what everybody else is saying in their reviews. All of it is true. It is a special place. Rooms are wonderful. Breakfast is stellar and the hosts (incl. the lovely dog) makes all the difference. It is located right in the center of everything. We enjoyed sitting in the breakfast room overlooking the canal for before dinner drinks and after dinner coffee. With only 3 rooms for rent, you feel right at home.

We stayed for three nights in early January - our first visit to Amsterdam - and cannot wait to return both to a lovely relaxed city and a wonderful house. Having read all the reviews we chose the Blue Room, a tough choice as all three rooms have their own charm but we loved being tucked away at the top of the house. It completely surpassed expectations! Stylish with a fabulous bathroom, and a huge round bed - the room ( like the rest of the house) is of the highest standard - better than so many hotels. Comfort is paramount and Peter and Wolter (and Tommie!) are wonderful hosts. Breakfast is a feast, conversation is fun, nothing was too much trouble and we felt very much at home. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Kamer01 in April and came back last week for 3 nights. What a treat - we felt as if we were coming to our second home. Peter and Woltor's hospitality was just as stellar as we had remembered it. Beyond our expectation - both hosts got up to make us a mini-breakfast so that we could leave for the airport by 8 am. Hugs by all as we left with a promise to come back again as soon as we can. Don't stay anywhere else!
