“What a great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

My husband and I were in Amsterdam for 10 days and wanted to feel at home for our stay. How lucky we were to have found Kamer01! Our hosts, Peter and Woltor met our every need. Beyond the unbelievable artistic breakfasts, fabulous location, charming accomodations, and after dinner treats - my crown fell off on Easter week-end and Woltor called the emergency dentist. We had difficulty with our return ticket and they resolved it before we came back from dinner. Friends joined us mid-way through the trip (they in the Blue room and us in the Red) and Kamer01 was perfect for the 4 of us. We were extended family and can't wait to go back.

We visited Amsterdam to celebrate my partners 30th birthday and had an absolutely fantastic time staying in B&B Kamer 01! Peter and Walter went out of their way to make us feel welcome in their beautiful home, the 5 course breakfast was of the highest quality and the Blue room we stayed in was probably the best room we have ever stayed in!

The location is perfect - very close to the action but still set in a quiet and relaxing location.

I would not stay anywhere else on my next visit to Amsterdam!

You would want your HOME on one of the canals- a quiet part please

The Singel will do fine- it's closest to all the restaurants and city center

I would want an architect to design my home- and a crew member on one of Europes largest airlines to design all my future trips- and travel around Holland

I'd want my home to be spotless- a staff of two would be nice

An Apple Mac on a table near the window (overlooking the canal) to do work or just get a boarding pass.

I got used to the wonderful breakfast at the Shangri-la hotel in Bangkok- so breakfast must be as good- or better--, after all there can't be more than 4 people- not hundreds.

Maybe a dog-to keep an eye on things- and greet me each day

Certainly a fridge with four kinds of beer, wine, champaign, soda, juices etc- to have drinks in the evening when the city lights up- a well stocked fridge- please

It would be nice if my landlords became friends- over coffee in the morning- or martinis at night

Trouble is- once i found something so perfect- it would be crazy hard to leave

Peter, Walter, and the dog Tommy make this place so special- that after having traveled to Amsterdam at least two dozen times- staying at the "best" hotels- i don't have a clue what i was thinking!!

Is there nothing to find fault with? Well yes- the building has the European sockets- and you must walk down 10 steps to ask Peter for a converter.. Oh- and the stairs- it is a completely redone old house and the stairs are small and steep. Not a problem for most.

As a world traveler- this joint gets 6 stars

We spent a marvellous Week end in B&B Kamer01. This place is one of the most charming and cosy place we can find, and Peter and Walter are wonderfull. They take care of their guest with a lot of sympathy and awareness. And you can never forget the breakfast! we had the red which is very comfortable and design and the vieuw on the canal is so beautifull.

Room Tip: the red one is wonderfull

We were given a Xmas gift of two nights stay in a B and B in Amsterdam and visited last week. The Kamer 01 proved to be a superb B and B with excellent service provided by Peter and Wolter - truly excellent.

Kamer 01 is a brilliant design success with every item of furnishing carefully selected to create perfection and comfort. Peter and Wolter provide probably the best breakfast we have ever experienced plus their friendly advice and guidance added to our enjoyment of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is a great city but staying in Kamer01 ensured that our visit was much more enjoyable.

We will be returning to Kamer01. .

Don’t be put off by the name... Kamer01 means ‘room one’in Dutch, a nod to the fact that this boutique bed and breakfast only has two available guest rooms, guaranteeing an unrivalled personal experience. Impeccably run by attentive duo Peter and Wolter (and Tommie, the Beagle), nothing is too much trouble... The pair pride themselves on spoiling their guests with a satisfying five-course organic breakfast each morning, with all ingredients sourced locally.

Nestling in a beautiful heritage building, which dates back to 1585, the two spacious rooms – so called the ‘Red room’ and the ‘Blue room’ – both enjoy spectacular views over the picturesque Signel Canal. Each meticulously thought-out by ardent interior designer Peter, they feature en suite marble bathrooms, stylish sleeping areas (the Blue room has a unique circular bed!) and cosy lounge – perfect for resting your weary feet after a full day of sightseeing. Voted by Trip Advisor as Traveller’s Choice 2013: Top 25 B&Bs and Inns in Europe, location is one of the keys to Kamer01’s charm. Set perfectly in the heart of Amsterdam, it’s within easy walking distance of all main attractions including museums, Rembrandt Square, the flower market, fashion boutiques and, of course, the remarkable Anne Frank House (an absolute must-visit!). Perhaps you’d rather chill out and unwind with an authentic cappuccino in hand? Why not grab a seat at one of the welcoming local café bars and indulge in a spot of people watching?

In keeping with the city vibe of the bedrooms, the finely assembled dining area also grants wonderful views over the canal. After a five-star breakfast, make the most of a leisurely chat with your hosts, both a fountain of knowledge when it comes to Amsterdam. They’ll be able to answer all your questions on what to do, where to go, and what to see before you head home. And if you need any assistance with making a reservation for dinner, they’ll be only too happy to oblige.

Departing daily to Amsterdam from Norwich International Airport, a break in the Dutch capital is easier than ever before. So, if you’re interested in architecture, culture, history and dining, be sure to plan a visit soon – and make the iconic Kamer01 boutique bed and breakfast
your base during your stay.

A delightful jewel with charming service in the heart of the city. it is stylish and yet warm.
you have a great view from the huge window in the breakfast room, which can also be used day and night for just watching the romantic setting of the streets and canal, while enjoying a glass of wine or cup of tea. I had a lovely time...and I definitely will come back in summertime!!!

Room Tip: both rooms are adorable!
