“Very Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Brooklyn Hotel. It offered just about everything you could ask for in a hotel. Great service with friendly staff, awesome room, and I actually liked the location as well (although some surrounding buildings could use some cleaning up). Would definitely stay here again. Just may be our go-to hotel here in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the water and central station.

Great prices at this hotel but as you have to take a (free) ferry to Central Station you have to decide if you really want to stay so far out of town. I was out in Leidesplein then got a taxi back to the hotel at night as I didn't fancy the long walk back to the central station, then the ferry journey back.... Taxi cost €22 .... Just beware!
The hotel is nice and the rooms are lovely. Breakfast is a small corner with a choice of sweet muffins, croissants, coffee etc in the lobby...Pay for what you take... The hotel desperately needs a restaurant as there is nowhere to grab something to eat or drink.
OK for a nice room friendly staff but hotel lacks a bar and a restaurant and you are in the windiest most open part of Amsterdam!
Don't think I would stay here again

Room Tip: I had room 508.. Great views

I stayed at the Brooklyn with my Partner on our first visit to Amsterdam and found the hotel a great base for sightseeing. There is a regular free ferry service between the wharf area where the Brooklyn is located which brings you directly to the back of Centraal station, from there you're right in the middle of central Amsterdam.

Check in is a breeze and the reception staff were extremely helpful, offering city maps, bike hire and timetables for the ferry. The room wasn't the largest but for short city breaks its more than adequate. The room included a large wet room (the shower was amazing), Flat screen wall mounted TV (which shows local and UK channels) large comfortable bath robes, slippers, hairdryer, mini fridge, complimentary chilled mineral water & coffee/tea making facilities. Also the room has included wired and wifi internet access free of charge. The bed is large enough for two to sleep soundly, large pillows, soft linens and a comfortable mattress, we both enjoyed a very good nights sleep.

The only downside is that the hotel does not provide room service nor have a restaurant, although they do state that there are 'nibbles' for purchase. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Brooklyn Hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

My sister, niece and I recently stayed at the newly opened Boutique Brooklyn Hotel, and enjoyed it immensely. Located in an area away from the center of Amsterdam, one can catch a free ferry to and from city central, at all times of day and late into the night, thus being able to enjoy both the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city, then return to a quiet relaxing rest of one's day at this lovely hotel. Docked nearby was a large Greenpeace ship, which impressed me!

The rooms are immaculate and service accommodating. Because it is a growing area, there are not many choices of restaurants although there is one across from the hotel which was closed by the time we were back from sightseeing. We did find a great little bar along the dock, enjoying a beer late at night, listening to the sounds of the water.

Although this hotel is a little pricey, I highly recommend staying here, especially if you enjoy quiet. We drove there from Germany easily, and were able to park at the hotel, which was great. The few kinks we experienced such as slow check-in and few choices of restaurants will all be worked out in time. I wish them great success.

Room Tip: The rooms are small but very clean and accommodating.

This Hotel has just recently opened, but everything is a success already.
Clean, quite small, but comfortable rooms with the best view I have ever had from a hotel room in Amsterdam! Absolutely amazing to have this wide view over the water in the evening time and to see all the boats and city skyline of Amsterdam, loved it! The rooms are in a nice loft style, modern and comfortable, although small they are providing all you need and it immediately makes you feel 'at home'. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the rental bikes are superb. With the free ferry service you're in downtown in no time and you really feel as if you're living in the city yourself by going with the bike! I can definitely recommend a stay here if you are looking for a quite, yet centrally located hotel with a modern design and comfortable rooms!

The reception staff were great. When we stayed they were still ironing out a few procedures (brand new hotel) but all of them were very friendly and very helpful.

As many have mentioned the free ferry is 100m away from the hotel. It is very easy to find your way to the hotel.

You can rent bikes from the hotel, but we opted to rent bikes without any logos on them from the many bike rental places throughout the city.

Our room seemed very new. There is a capsule type espresso machine in the room (the capsules were replenished every day) and a small fridge. The shower was great - an open design.

We had a good deal from their own website - they had a great opening offer, which did not include breakfast - but there is a bakery just opposite the ferry jetty (BBrood & Koffie)

The internet was slow, but hey - it's free.

A great stay.

Room Tip: The higher floors have a great view.

Brilliant hotel loved it the service was fantastic, new location, no room service but other than that I can't fault it at all. Would recommend it to everyone. Free ferry to Central station, the best ice cream ever across the road with an amazing restaurant across from the hotel
