“Great place to stay in Amsterdam!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2011

I booked this hotel as part of a trip through an online travel agent, and I also checked TripAdvisor to see other people's thoughts before booking. It was a great place to stay. It's true that it is not within walking distance of the main downtown area, but the bus ride to get into and out of downtown is easy and short, and the bus runs frequently, even at night and in the early morning.

The single room was smaller than a typical U.S. hotel room, but it was in good condition, clean and quiet. The staff was very nice about answering my questions about the city and attractions. There were two computers in the lobby for guest use, which was very handy as I did not bring my own, and the breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of options. I would definitely stay here again, and I recommend it to others.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Was very pleased with room, really comfy beds, kettle and hairdryer supplied. We paid 15 euros for a three day bus pass. We didn't mind the ten minute bus ride and regularly went in the dam twice a day. Only one gripe I've got is that when I arrived home and looked at my credit card account I noticed a hundred euro debit. I thought this was strange as I hadn't used it. After ringing my bank I found the hotel had taken it. I was not informed of this and after having to ring them at my cost I found out this is what they do. They hold onto money for two weeks then give it back to you. Obviously I'll also be charged a fee for this. Guests should be informed of this on arrival and I would of given them a cash deposit. This procedure of theirs has angered me. Apart from that moan a very nice hotel.

We stayed at the Westcord 4 star on our return to Amsterdam. It provided the convenience of a modern hotel outside of the city center. Take Bus 48 from Central Station, 10 min ride. Do not stay here if you want to see Amsterdam in a walk, it is too far away. Peaceful, large modern rooms with restaurant downstairs. Breakfast available for crazy price. Slept like babies in our king bed. Great for certain situations like business, not really the best location for site seeing.

everything was good except for the bed...I booked a double bedroom and the room had a twin bed. when asked in the reception they confirmed they haven't got any double bed. suprized there is no double bed in a 4* hotel!!!
on a positive note the morning breakfast was excellent.

I'd just like to say I've been to Amsterdam twice this was a much better but slightly more costly trip a modern hotel with almost everything u can need in a hotel ( not small an dingy like most central hotels).. Easy to get to from airport an there is a transfer service available on request which was very handy for a late night early morning flight, also transport to and from the centre is right out side the hotel u can have say a 45min walk of a 5min bus ride buy the day pass u can use any bus with one of then for about the same price it cost u there an back something like €7 an for a single fair ur I think €3.30.. Only stayed for 4 day an I'd be more than happy to say there again.. Very nice polite an helpful staff food is expensive so we never ate there but most of Amsterdam centre is expensive there are cheaper alternatives for food and plenty of then. So apart from the price of the food great hotel

We were travelling to Germany on a business trip and decided to stay for approx 3 day at Amsterdam. After a lot of searching, we came accross the WestCord Art Hotel. The Hotel is located approx. 10 minutes away from the Heart of Amsterdam. However considering the prices that are prevailing for a hotel at Drum square, I would strongly suggest that you take this Hotel up. The rooms are quite spacious for european standards and the three of us travelling together enjoyed our space in the room. The rooms were also very clean and the security of the hotel quite good - the access card allows you up though the elevators and other lobby doors. The best feature of the Hotel is that there is a bus stop just outside the Hotel from where you can take a bus to Centraal station ( the mail station) every 15 minutes. And post that, you can go anywhere from Centraal where all the busses and trams terminate. The busses are on till 12 midnight every 15 minutes so returning to the hotel is also very easy, post this one bus every 1 hour. The morning breakfast was a very good spread with all the typical things. The Hotel reception is also very helpful and you can book your daily bus pass / day tours from there
