“You know you have a friend, when you have a friend like Ben”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

Friendly staff who helped us with how to get to places and the hotel is moments away from the heart of the Red Light district. you can work off the beer by carrying out a fitness routine by walking up the stairs - 70+ to our room at the top and all at 45 degree angle steep; always a laugh when drunk. Walls are paper thin but you get a room for cheap so can't really complain. Make note of this as everything can be heard from opening a crisp packet to quiet talking.

If you can sleep through the other hotel residents then all you have to do then is sleep through the cathedral bells playing from 8am - 11pm. All in all I went there to get drunk and unwind and the hotel was good enough for us.

Room Tip: Ask for a low floor room if stairs are not your thing

We stayed in this hostel last weekend for one night during a fleeting visit weekend visit to Amsterdam and it was perfect, exactly what we were looking for.

This accommodation is a hostel and there a definitely no frills but for a short stay in the city it's perfect considering you don't spend much time in your room anyway. We stayed in a family room with four twins beds and a private bathroom. It was clean and spacious and extremely good value for money - some of our friends were staying elsewhere in less centrally located hostels without a private bathroom and they were paying over double!

This hostel is ideally located right in the hub of the city and just 5 minutes walk from the train station.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. We arrived before checkout and they managed to sort our room out for us early so we could get in. They also let us store our luggage there on the last day so we didn't have to carry it around all day.

Would definitely stay here again for any trip to Amsterdam.

Horrific place, we had mice in our room and were told by staff that its a common problem and to be expected in Amsterdam. Carpets and bed linen were disgusting and the service was horrific. Would rather sleep on the streets.

You get what you pay for. Basic but clean room, TV with few channels (who watches TV on holiday anyway?) Friendly staff, 24 hour reception and vending machines.

Only downfall was our fairly large window falling off its hinges which would have certainly resulted in a trip to A+E had somebody been lying on the bed below it.

Its a budget hotel with basic amenities. Easily accessible from railway station by walk. Its very near to de wallen area (night life). We got room at top floor. It was not spacious. TV facility was very basic. Rooms at the top have lot of stairs so make sure you dont get those rooms. Reception people are nice and knowledgeable and guide well. All sorts of eateries are nearby including "Maoz vegetarian" which is pure vegetarian snacks outlet.

Room Tip: Rooms at top floor need long stairs to climb up.

I stayed here a couple of years ago... Awful hotel!!
You get what you pay for!! I have stayed in the best hotels in amsterdam like the Die port van Cleve and the park in vondle park... this is like sleeping in a car park compare to them, You need to wear shoes to walk to the bathroom fro your bed and the stairs are a awful.
