“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

A really good hotel in Amsterdam. Close to lively Leidsekade and Rembrandt Square and trams to Central, the location is fabulous, and if you get a room with a canal view, even better! This is the second time I've been to Amsterdam and compared to the hovel in the Red Light District that I stayed in last time, this was definately much better.

It was €12 in a taxi from Central Station, and upon checking in, we were upgraded to a triple room. Our friends who were travelling with us had accidentally booked the wrong hotel (the Quentin London) but this booking was fortunately able to be transferred.
A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ELISAVET (spelling?!) FOR ACCOMODATING THIS FOR US!

The room was very big with high ceilings and the pulley/hook thing in the ceiling (if you don't know the significance of the pulley, do a Canal Tour to find out why!). As mentioned before, me and my friend got upgraded to a triple room, so this was amazing compared to our friends in double rooms. If you can afford it, get a triple room, its so worth it! We faced the canal so it was very pretty.

The bathroom was fairly small, but it did the job. The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The stairs leading to the hotel are steep, but workable.

Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: request a canal view

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Just stayed there for three nights and was a little wary before arriving after reading some of the bad reviews previously.
Some things were a little weird but this hotel is in the middle of Amsterdam. Its part of the reason you go to the place. We were in room 210 on the second floor and enjoyed our stayover. Check-in was efficient and so was checking out. The lift worked, our room was clean, towels were changed and the shower worked ok too. My only criticism was that our room had absolutely no wardrobes at all.No where to hang your clothes.
Weird but not enough for us to give it a bad review.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 7 nights the first week in October and it was lovely. The room was a bit tight but it is Amsterdam after all. This was my 4th time to the city but my first staying at the Quentin and I will definitely be staying there again. Leidseplein is my favorite square in the whole city and the hotel is located just around the corner from it where you can find shopping, bars, clubs, restaurants, and so much more!! We arrived to the hotel after traveling around Europe and were so happy to see they had an elevator which was a luxery at that point ! The rooms themselves were basic but nice and the hotel had pretty much anything you needed on request. I will be staying here again and will definitely recommend this place to others!

We are stay their at the moment and not very happy. The bed was unclean and the room is like a hostel. We have been kept awake all night. We have already book another hotel as feel we would rather sleep in the street and wash in the canal than spend another night here. Be warned you will regret stay here.
