There was no mini bar. Desk staff were arrogant. We booked in for a day early, so that when we arrived at 8.30 am we would have a room to move straight into after a long trip from Australia. On arrival it was you were not here so we relet it.Sorry you get room later. Oh sorry I do not like your debit/credit card, you pay deposit, then you spend money you pay more deposit.Duh they still managed to get outstanding account.

Room Tip: Do not go.

My boyfriend and i came home yesterady from Amsterdam, we stayed in this hotel and it was absolutely incredible. It was a little bit further from the centre than we expected but still only a 5 minute walk from all of the attractions, they even provided a shuttle bus to take you there.

The staff were very friendly and were prepared to go out of their way to help you, the rooms were fantastic. Ours (an d i assume the rest were the same) had a great view, the beds were so comfortable and big, the bathroom was perfect with a big shower and clean towels everyday!

The hotel was an amazing cherry on top to a very good break! I thank all staff at the hotel for making the trip perfect.

We choose this place because it was close to the waterfront to where we were taking a river cruise.
This place is very close to the central station and the old town area.
The hotel is quite nice with a friendly staff. The cost for the room was on the high side but what can be expected for Amsterdam.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in late May - 2 adults, 1 child. We stayed B&B in a junior suite, which I got with airline points and had a pleasant stay. Our room had nice views of the Ij-haven and the cruise terminal - on our first morning, we woke to find a cruise ship docked right outside our window, which was pretty impressive! It's a shame the junior suites don't occupy the highest floors though, as it would have been nice to have a view of the city as well.

What little interaction we had with staff was fine.

Our room was in good order, with a comfortable king size bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed set out for our daughter in the lounge. There was an included mini bar, with a can of beer and some soft drinks. As far as I recall, the bar wasn't replenished for the second day, but no big deal really. The bathroom was clean, with plenty of towels and toiletries. Our room came with free wifi, which connected without any issues.

We made use of the executive lounge in the afternoon and there was a nice selection of beer, wine, soft drinks, tea/coffee etc and some hors d'ouevres - cheese and Chinese style filo pastry style party snacks with dipping sauce...OK but a bit uninspiring - they looked like they came out of a frozen packet.

Breakfast was very good, with a decent selection of hot and cold/continental items.

We had no issues with the location of the hotel and liked the fact that it was away from the hustle and bustle of central Amsterdam . The tram stop was directly opposite the hotel, offering fast transfers to/from Centraal station - we got 48 hour passes and made good use of them.

All things considered, a great stay and we have booked to return later this year.

This was our first stay at the Moevenpick Amsterdam, after researching options and having previously stayed in Ibis within Amsterdam, this hotel is by far the best we have experienced in a long time! Arrived at 11:30am, checked in promptly and bags taken to allow us to venture into centre for a few hours before room being ready at 2:30pm. Hotel is 1 tram stop away from Centraal station, and would strongly recommend purchasing a tram pass for the duration of your trip. The stop is musiekgebouw bimhuis, and is directly across the road from hotel. Trams are every 5-10minutes. You could easily walk into centre but trams are easier. We used the courtesy bus once but felt trams were better. Upon receiving our room key, the receptionist wished us a happy wedding anniversary, which was lovely. Our room was on the 16th floor, and outstanding in all respects. The view was breathtaking. Guest services had left us a cute little anniversary card and courtesy chocolate on the table when we arrived in our room, very thoughtful gesture! Bed was huge, comfortable, and air con was a saviour in the July heat! And there is a mini fridge which was great for chilling water or snacks. Good TV channels also. Bathroom clean and decent decor throughout. Noise was never an issue, even with huge cruise ships right outside the window.
Hotel was always busy with cruise guests from various organisations, and airline staff checking in and out constantly. Very popular hotel!
We never ate at hotel as we were room only rate, but we did partake in a few cocktails which were lush! Overall, we LOVE this hotel, and will now be our ONLY choice for future trips to Amsterdam! Thanks Moevenpick!!

Room Tip: Mention during reservation if you have anniversary, birthday, celebration etc. Higher rooms, better...

Arrived at central station for a three night stay, and followed directions to meet the courtesy mini bus for the trip to the hotel. This was at 10.00 in the morning, so too early to check in we thought, but no, checked in by a very efficient receptionist to save time later when the room would be ready. Bags were taken to a secure room, and a receipt given.
We spent the rest of the day in the city before returning to the hotel in the early evening. We were on floor 15, room 30. A corner room with superb views of the port and the city.
The room was as you would expect, clean, functional, with all amenities, and a larger than average bathroom.
We had pre booked breakfast, which allowed us a discount from the 24.50 each, down to 18.50 each. This sounds a lot until you see the buffet on offer, absolutely superb. This was the same for our evening meals, relatively expensive, but very good quality and well presented.

All staff were, without exception, a credit to the management, and could not do enough for us.

One of the highlights was waking up to find 2 cruise ships outside our window, I suppose this is a benefit of being close to the water.

A minor downside is the distance to walk to the city, about 20 minutes brisk walk.

All in all a very good stay and will have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: High floor overlooking the port
