“Good and bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

While the rooms and the hotel are modern and clean, the location is not ideal. We were given a room w/ two twins even though I requested a King. We were traveling as a couple, so this was really annoying. There seem to be two options for accommodations, either you get some light in your room through a window across the hallway, or you have no windows, but a larger bathroom. I don't think of this as a good trade off. The staff is pretty good... Another thing, it took them three days to finally put lotion in the bathroom, each time i called they were surprised it was not in the room in the first place.

We loved our stay here. The bed was really comfortable. We got a room facing indoors. It was very quiet. The bath was deep and spacious and the shower included a rain and handheld showerhead. It's a short walk to a diverse neighbourhood of shops and restaurants and the Jordaan is only 15-20 minutes away. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. Look on discount sites for specials and you might find rooms for under 100 euros. All in all an excellent experience.

Stayed in this hotel for one night. Nice welkom upon arrival. Hotel is very stylish and classy.
The rooms are new & modern. The bathroom is nice but has no privacy, if you are travelling with a friend be advised !. I live in Amsterdam and used to noises, but i found the sounds we had in the room unacceptable. I heard multiple toilet flushes at 2 in the night, when someone is walking on the 1rst floor you can clearly hear them walking. Overall good stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 1rst floor, if they ask you to upgrade to a room with a window don;t do it the...

My husband and I stayed here three nights recently for a long weekend. Upon arrival, our room wasn't ready, and we were offered the choice of an upgrade in a sister hotel across town. We had done our research though and opted to stay at the De Hallen, leaving our bags at the hotel while we headed out for the rest of the day.

Upon our return we were given our room key and found our bags had already been delivered to our room. Our room was actually located in what must have been the old offices of the warehouse; the brick part at the front of the hotel. We were on the third floor, so got absolutely no noise from the hotel or the street. The room was great; polished concrete floors and high, high roof - at least 20 feet. The room wasn't huge, but spacious enough; the bed was a huge king sized one.

The bathroom was nice, but one small complaint - the water pressure in the shower wasn't hard enough.

Wifi was great. The hotel - while not in the centre of town - was in a great area for restaurants (we didn't eat in the hotel) and was well located for public transport. Highly recommended; would stay again!

stayed for two nights on a work trip. Hotel is in a part of Amsterdam that is being developed, so there are building works around the hotel ( but they don't infringe). Hotel interior is stylish, rooms smallish but comfortable and the front of house staff are very friendly. All in all, I'd go back for work or weekend away. It's about a 10 minute walk to nine streets and 20 minutes to old town districts.

Wonderful hotel :) The only very slight niggle is that it's very expensive to eat actually at the hotel for breakfast or dinner. Tried both & the food was amazing though (could only afford one dinner & one breakfast over the course of our 3 night trip, such a shame as very tasty!)

Room Tip: I would have thought they are all good :)

A very modern and unusual conversion of the old trams depots, provides an excellent set of modern rooms in a great atmosphere. The staff were fantastic and made a real effort to meet our needs. Breakfast was good. Rooms really well equipped but not dressing gown.

Dear JF1948,

Thank you for your recent visit to our hotel in Amsterdam.
You taking your time sharing your experience online and with such positive comments is highly appreciated.
Please be advised the hotel offers complimentary bathrobes upon request. To be as environmental friendly as possible, it is decided to not place it in the room standard, as it saves a lot of water washing without them being used. Thank you for your understanding.

I hope to be able to welcome you back soon, and please contact me personally for any future reservations (anneloes@hoteldehallen.com) , so I can ensure the bathrobes will be ready in your room upon arrival.

Kind regards,

Anneloes van der Werf
