“Conference and Family Trip, Comfortable and Excellent Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2011

We stayed in Apartments 892 and 893. Just outside the main hotel. 2 rooms, separate toilet and shower. Small balcony / terrace to wash and dry your clothes. I Double bed in master room and a pull out sofa bed in the other room which doubles up as living room / Kitchenette. Convenient access to Albert Heijn Supermarket close by to get simple supplies.
Bedding and linen clean. Bathroom / Toilet very clean. Carpets old and can do with a spring clean. Beautiful view of the canal and the boats. Quiet enough. Sleeping no problems after tiring walks around the city. House Keeping good. 512Kb wired ethernet internet free. Wireless free in the hotel lobby. Hotel concierge helpful.
Outstanding reception staff. Elvira helped us after a long long flight to Amsterdam. Arrived early hours of the morning and we had checked in 1 room the night before by phone. She was very courteous and very very helpful. Reception made up for any other shortcomings.
Apartments are separate from the main hotel entrance and had a steep staircase to negotiate with luggage. No elevators.
Plenty of nearby restaurants of all flavours. Tram stop handy and canal boats nearby. 15min stroll to Central station and everything in between easily accessible.

Hi
I just returned from a stay at the Eden and wanted to say that the Executive room I had was excellent. A large room, didn't lack anything. And a huge bathroom with a double ended bath and private loo.
The room overlooked a tram line, but from the 3rd floor and behind modern double or triple glazing you could barely hear it.
I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.
Location wise you're central for everything (the touristy stuff and the nicer Amsterdam) and only about a 200 yards from a tram stop if you're lugging large cases. So it couldn't really be any better. I'll certainly be back.

Room Tip: I got my room from laterooms.com at a great price

We found our room the be of nice size and bothe the room and bath were easy to navigate in a wheelchair. The beds were compfortable and the room were nicely appointed. The staff was most helpful with directions and other touristy information. The food in the restaurant's food was quite good with a nice selection. We would recommend the Eden Rembrandt Square as our stay was quite good.

What can I say, this hotel was truly worth every penny! Staff were super friendly, we weren't supposed to check in until 2pm but we stolled on down at about 1:15pm just to check whether our room might have been ready and the chap on reception was so polite and helpful. When we got to our room, we couldn't believe how amazing it was!! I have never stayed in a place like it, gorgeous power shower, self -demisting mirror in there too. Stay away from the mini bar though...unless you are rich and super lazy lol.

It is a bit noisy at night but to be honest we were either too drunk or too stoned and went straight to sleep anyways haha...we ended up having a twin room with the two beds pushed together...only became a problem if you were hoping to have sex :-D

It is in a perfect location to just sit inbfront of a bar in Rembrandt Square and watch the world go by. Truly beautiful place and the people are so friendly!

We got a train from Schipol Airport then justr walked down at our leisure...it is an easy enough walk down to the hotel but we did only have a handluggage case each and were in no particular rush. Gives you a chance to take it all in :-)

All in all...fab hotel, fab city and fab people...didnt want to come home! xx

Room Tip: Overall...truly fab experience!!

Arriving at the entrance of the hotel, we noticed it was rated as 4 stars. Not even close.

We had luggages and boxes (as we were on a conference as well). There was no porter to assist us and we had to single handedly place all our items on a larger trolley and push it all the way to the luggage store room (as our room was not ready). When the room was ready, we also had to bring our luggage to the rooms ourselves.

First impression of the room: Bad.

There were stains on the carpet (quality of a 4 star hotel?). The air conditioner thermosat could not be adjusted. There was only 1 set of towels and also no rug for the toilet floor. We called reception and they asked us to check all the cupboards to see if the extra set of towels are there, before agreeing to send an extra set to us. (we checked and there truly was only 1 set of towels). The bed was very soft and there is only 1 pillow for each of us. Which provided no neck support at all. At night, we can hear the next room showering (water running very loudly) and we are fairly light sleepers.

The hotel does not practice what they preach in terms of being eco-friendly. They changed our towels daily despite us hanging the towels on the rack to indicate that we do not need it changed.

The last straw for us came on the 2nd last day when we enquired about payment of the hotel bill. Our bill would amount to 800++ euros and we were allowed to pay in cash. However to our horror, the hotel says they cannot accept 500 euros note.....no reason given. The receptionist did try to provide a solution by asking us to change smaller notes at the bank. However, the bank charges a 1% commission for every transaction. Why can't the hotel accept our note, when they have a fraud machine to check the validity of the notes? This display of service is totally unacceptable and is not in the tourists best interest. Very disappointing.

the only saving grace of the hotel is the location. it is a 5-10mins walk to dam square. fairly convenient.

For the amount eden charges, dont even consider.

Walked into room. Far too hot. Aircon broken. Asked immediately for it to be fixed. Nothing happened. Asked again that night. Nothing. Mentioned again at check out and got an apology. Not good enough for 150 a night. Sadly even though location is great it did frustate us. Anyway had a good weekend but got to be honest about that ba service that let this place down

Just come back from staying at the Eden square Rembrandt hotel and it was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful and We got a free upgrade to an executive suite as it was my husbands 40th. I would recommend this to any traveller to Amsterdam.
