The location can't be beat if you're arriving with a lot of luggage into Central Station. It took me less than 45 minutes to the airport from my hotel room. Also fairly close to the Dam and redlight district, however, a bit of a trek to museums and nicer/quieter parts of the city so depends on the focus of your visit.

I arrived at noon and was given a room before official check-in time and was grateful after a 12 hour flight from South Africa. I was also given an upgrade to a double-room so can't comment on the smaller rooms. The room was spotless and comfortable.

Security was also very good; you can only get on the elevator with a room key.

The restaurant was good for lunch (about 15 euro with a glass of wine) but I found breakfast over-priced and not very outstanding for 10 euro.

Great value for 88 euro.

We stayed at the Bellevue for 3 night over Easter weekend on our trip to AMS and overall it was a good hotel with a few things we would change. Our rate was 125 euros + tax w/o breakfast.

Location: The location was pretty good. The train station is within view of the hotel so its a very short walk if that's how you arrive.
Its not in the center of anything (touristy) but close enough to walk to most areas or jump on a tram. We were able to walk to Dam Square and the RLD but we also jumped on the tram to head to Dam Sq sometimes. Also being so close to the train station we would take a tram there and walk to the hotel if we weren't on the line that passed our hotel. It was a busy street so I never felt nervous walking back to the hotel at night.

Check-in & Check-out: We arrived at 8am so there was a locked room where we were able to store our luggage for the day. My one concern of the room was its common where you dropped your own bags so anyone that got the key could go in there and go through your luggage if they wanted. It wasn't a problem but it was something I though about after I left my luggage. So we checked in early afternoon with no problem. The woman that checked us in wasn't rude but wasn't friendly either. Gave us a map, answered a few questions and we were off. Overall most of the people at the front desk were ok. There was one really friendly clerk when we were checking out. Check-out wasn't a problem either. We had to check-out at 5am to catch a flight.

Room: The rooms are very small. I never complain about the sizes of rooms but this was really too small. So small there was really no where to put your luggage that wasn't in your way. There was a small closet to hang-up some items and store a few things.
One great thing was how clean the room and hotel was. Everything was super clean.
The room had a small flat screen TV & remote. The sound proofing in my room really wasn't good. We could hear whenever the person in the next room was watching TV. Also there was an in room safe for money and passports.
The heating unit really didn't seem to work that well. It really never seemed to heatup the room to the set temperature.

Beds: The bed was really great. We had a double bed and it was a double bed and not 2 singles pushed together. We were each surprised how comfortable the bed was. The pillows were good also.

Bathroom: This is where the Bellevue loses some points. My wife really hated it. Its everything in 1 room. There is no stall or tub for the shower. Its just water proof paint with a showerhead sticking out of the wall. So needless to say everything got wet in the bathroom. There was only 1 tiny shelf in the bathroom that was at the height where if your weren't paying attention you walked right into it. There was a hairdryer but you didn't want to dry your hair in the bathroom because the floor was soaked and you are using an electric appliance. This was the one just straight out stupid design. Oh plus there was a temperature control on the hairdryer so it would shut off when it got hot. This REALLY annoyed my wife when it look 45 minutes to dry her hair.
The bathroom was cool looking but really just overall stupid.

Overall: I thought the Bellevue was a good hotel. Very clean and remodeled. Elevator worked fine and we had no real problems.
If I was going back to Amsterdam again I wouldn't get mad if I had to stay at the Bellevue again but I would rather look to see what else is out there.

We only stayed for one night. We got in late and had to leave early the next day. So we wanted something with quick and easy access to the train station.

This hotel was just fine if you want to get to the train station in a hurry. Rooms were rather small, but that's understasble for a European hotel room. The decore was a little funky, but we could appreciate it none the less. The Included breakfast was more than just pastries and cereal.

The bathrooms are one big wetbath. Shower and the whole bathroom is going to be soaking wet. I don't understand who thought this design was practical. Remeber not to wear your socks in the bathroom once someone has showered.

the room had some strange crackling noises, so we had to wear earplugs to sleep. But we were so exhausted we just crashed.

Overal an OK place to stay. But it is small with very little room for luggage and belongings.

A real postage stamp. The bathrooms suck. The shower has no curtain and sprays all over the toilet, sink and floor. Unacceptable. No room for clothes, suitcases, sitting! No dressers. Also unacceptable. Seriously small and claustrophobic. Unbelievable that people like this place. No view. You have to clean up the water on the floor or you will slip. You have to clean up the water on the toilet or you will sit on wet stuff. We were so disappointed and moved out. Like rats in a cage. Yes, it's new and safe. But unless you only sleep here, and never use the shower, it is best avoided. The bathroom measures two metres by three meters at most, the bedroom about twice that size. They have a wall mounted TV because there is no other place to put a TV. We tried to take a photo of the bathroom, but it was too small to fit in the viewfinder. The photo of the chair shows ALL of the available leisure space, before your suitcase takes it over. Perhaps this is just an American viewpoint, as the Europeans seem to love this place. We moved to the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky and loved it.

We selected the Bellevue Hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and we agree with the comments. We had the only 4 person room and can report that it was very spacious with 4 individual full sized beds, it was very clean and the bathroom was great. The only adverse comment we have on the room is that it was both close to the lift (which could be noisy late at night) and the Kitchen (which could be noisy in the morning), however, the positves definately outweighed the negatives, and we would happily stay again. The staff were friendly and helpful: and there is a locked room to store your luggage before check in and on your final day. Unlike some of your more recent reviews, we didn't rate the breakfasts as very good value and preferred going out and eating at other local cafes/bakeries. The hotel's position was brilliant for everything in Amsterdam, the Station, Boat Tours and all the main sites were under 5 minutes walk away.
