My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in July 2006 as a mid-week birthday getaway. Peter is a great host, very friendly and knows a lot about the area; and was able to give us a early check-in and a late check-out :-)

The location is great, with everything in walking distance, bars cafe's, shops etc. Peter had just installed a new bed, which was a over-sized large wooden bed, which was awesome.

For those who haven't stayed on a house-boat before, they are very stable and you won't feel sea-sick at all. Very romantic being so close to the water. definitely recommend it!!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 nights in June. Peter is a great host, and the boat itself is beautiful. It's located in a wonderful neighborhood-- lots of shops and markets and tucked in a quiet canal. You can do some of your own cooking in the fully stocked kitchen, or just wake up to enjoy Peter's food for a nice breakfast.

I've been to Amsterdam many times, but this was by far my most enjoyable experience in terms of accomodation. It seemed like everyday the water on the canal changes with the light and the weather. One day it rained, and spend the afternoon in the boat enjoying the scene. It was very romantic. We're already planning our next stay.

My family (2 adults 2 boys) stayed here for 3 nights in May 2006. We booked this houseboat based on reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed in any way. We highly recommend this houseboat.
The fridge came stocked with a dozen eggs, 2 types of juice, cheese, ham, 2 loaves of bread, breakfast cereal, tea and coffee and even a bottle of wine. There was more than enough food for our breakfasts and some lunches.
The houseboat is in a great location and a tram stop is only a few metres away.
When we stayed Peter was doing some renovation and some things looked a bit unfinished - but this didn't detract from a great stay.
Peter supplied a fold-out camp bed for one of my boys and the other slept on the fold out sofa-bed. The houseboat has central heating which was lovely.
The bathroom/toilet is tiny with only room for one person at a time - but how many people do you need in a bathroom at once? There were adquate cooking facilities including pots and pans.
We loved pulling back the curtains and waving to the tourist boats as they came down the canal. Highly recommended.
Peter organised a pickup for us from the airport - but I now realise that it would have been very easy to catch the train from the airport terminal and a tram to the houseboat (as per the instructions on the Prinsenboat website).
If you are considering staying in a houseboat - don't waste time - book it NOW!

On my arrival to the boat Peter, the owner, was waiting for me. I found him to be very kind and fun. He showed me all the facilities and how they worked. The kitchen was stocked with enough fresh food that I really didn’t have to eat any where else and there was wine as well.

The boat is beautiful. The windows open out so you can feed the swans from the couch - it is something special. As mentioned the tourist boats come past every ten minutes. We had lots of fun with them - they feel funny about looking in to your private water home! Once you wave at them, the cameras start flashing. I felt like a super star. Very funny stuff! The bed is hard and super comfy with a window as well TV and cable the stereo in the lounge room is powerful and can be turned up loud there are classical CDs there to use as well.

The bathroom is very clean and new. The boat is so close to coffee shops and cafes, as well as supermarkets, I stayed for 5 days and didn’t want to leave. Up the road is a lovely little laundry run by a nice man that will do all your washing and press it fold it and deliver it to the boat for 10 euro - I had lots of clothes. A bargain.

Well done peter I will stay again and recommend you to all my friends

We are a group of four friends on our post-graduation from university trip. We had been traveling for almost 6 weeks already and wanted to end our trip off with something comfortable and luxurious which just happened to be the Prinsenboat.

We were late on our arrival by 4 hours, but Michael kindly left us a lovely welcome note and came as soon as we called him. The most entertaining part of our trip was listening to his introduction to Amsterdam, in particular, how to do drugs properly if we were to do it :) haha.. but we're all good kids so it was very amusing.

The boat itself is wonderful though small for 4 people when the sofabed is pulled out. It was the best time that I've ever spent in Amsterdam and would encourage everyone to try this truly dutch experience.
