My husband and I stayed at Barnagay for two nights in late June. We were supposed to stay at Hotel D'Amsterdam, but changed at the last minute due to location and the fact they would not let us check in early, even if the room was ready. We decided to try for a B and B that would let us check in in the morning since we flew overnight.
Wimmo and Godwin were great from the booking to the introduction and everything in between. They usually don't book for two nights and have a minimum of three nights, but i really wanted to stay there and i'm not sure why (but i'm thankful), they let us stay for only two nights!
The location is great! Two blocks from Central Station and you can walk the whole city from here. The room was also very nice, a very comfy bed, the room was large and well decorated, and we had a big bathroom and room to move around. It was a bit pricey but i thought well worth it for the location and the friendly greeting we got, maps included. They also helped us with printing online tix to Anne Frank house (recommended) and dinner reservations to Season's (also recommended). We also recommend the Wonder Bar within walking distance if you like the bar scene.
We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Amsterdam is a really neat city with lots to look at and do and renting bikes is always fun. You will get to know the personality of the biker quickly! We even got to check in by noon so we could take a quick nap before going off exploring! Thank you to our hosts. They were great!
We didn't have breakfast there but it looked good. There are cats so if you have an allergy check about the places next door (we stayed in the bottom one). That was the only tiny little glitch was we could hear the people above us and it was kind of loud. Just an FYI!
All and all a good stay. Very guest friendly and i am very glad we switched from the hotel to this B and B!
