“Great location, interesting layout!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

We arrived at Erics BNB right on schedule and Eric was there to meet us and had bought in the provisions we asked for.
We had a HEAP of washing to which we threw in the the washing machine as soon as we got settled then we went out and about...Eric kindly i=unloaded and dried the washing for us.

He was always available to answer questions and ordered a taxi for us to go back to the station on departure

YES!..the stairs are very steep but we managed and it makes the layout of the flat most interesting as the bedroom is up another flight of stairs..but we left our luggage on the first longe / kitchen level.

We would definately recommend Erics..Great views of the canal...7 mins walk to Anne Frank House

Thanks Eric...Paul and Barbara NZ

We stayed at the Jordaan rooms for 3 nights. We really liked the apartment and the area was beautiful. The best part of the apartment was the upstairs common area which had a kitchen, dining table, sofa and fireplace. It also had iPod speakers so we took advantage of that! Eric asked us ahead of time what we wanted for breakfast and he bought the groceries for us. We asked for berries, bread, nutella, milk and cereal. It was really delicious and nice that we were able to deal with it our selves in the morning. Eric was nice and he gave us city maps. The main downside was that the bed was horrible, it was two super soft mattresses pushed together, but the bed frames were designed in a way that the closest the mattresses could get to one another was still like an inch away. As a result we kept accidentally rolling into the crack and onto the floor. We eventually decided to sleep diagonally on the bed which was weird. Point being if you're a couple, ask about the mattress situation beforehand!

Me and my girlfriend stayed for 3 nights in Jordaan B@B. House is within a walking distance to most of tourist attractions close to metro station as well as tram stop. Eric provided us with everything for breakfast we could possibly need. Thank You for making our stay perfect.

we didn't want to stay anywhere that could be anywhere, so we took ages to find the best canal view apartment available, within our budget. The photos and reviews of Eric's B&B on the Leidsegracht looked promising, but the experience was way beyond what we had expected.
This delightful home from home was beautiful, immaculate, welcoming, homely and just perfect for feeling you were distinctly in Amsterdam. Eric had stocked us up nicely with breakfast goodies and excellent coffee and tea supplies, after asking us in advance what we would like. We walked everywhere for the first three days, then tried the trams (from the stop on the next bridge) Perfect.
Just a couple of points to note; the extensive book collection is fascinating reading, but almost all the books are in Dutch, so if you aren't up to that, bring a book. The window/balcony view is so beautiful and so interesting, and the apartment is so cosy, it can be a struggle to leave it and go out to see the sights you had planned. If we come back to Amsterdam it will only be when our lovely home from home is available!

Room Tip: the stairs are always steep in Amsterdam, to avoid this you could go to a faceless modern hotel.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Canal House for 5 nights at the start of May 2013. The place is great!! Eric asked us -the day before our arrival- for a list of breakfast food which he provided for us (and had replenished during our stay). The house was very clean and had everything needed. It is exactly as shown in the pictures. The location is perfect to walk everywhere and the view is amazing!! All great reviews I had read before booking came true (and yes, the stairs are too steep :) ). Our vacations would not be the same if we had stayed somewhere else!! Hope we will be back!!
Thanks Eric!

My husband and I have visited Amsterdam a number of times. We used to stay at hotels, but found them expensive and small - even the “nice” hotels. The first private apartment we tried was ok, but now that we’ve discovered Eric’s, we won’t stay anywhere else. In fact, before we book a plane ticket, we always make sure we can get a reservation at Eric’s!

The Canal House is just as he describes it on his website. It is sparkling clean, well-furnished and has a fabulous location on the Prinsengracht canal. It is located within walking distance of the Amsterdam attractions, and if you don’t want to walk, the trams are a block away. If you enjoy people-watching, you can sit in the apartment and watch the boats, bikes and pedestrians go by. The view is wonderful, and the apartment gets great afternoon sun, too. We’ve stayed here at all different times through the year and no matter the season, the apartment is comfortable and pleasant.

Eric is the ideal host. He greets you upon arrival and shows you around the apartment. After that, he is readily accessible (we use email) to answer questions as needed.

We love the city, and continue to find new and interesting things to do in addition to returning to our favorites. Eric’s makes us feel as if we are truly “home away from home”. We have never had anything less than a wonderful stay, give it our highest recommendation.

My wife and I, our two nephews and a mutal friend enjoyed a week-long stay at Eric's B&B in Amsterdam and loved every minute of it. Conveniently located right beside a picturesque canal and only a few minutes walk from the city's down-town/restaurant district, Eric's is ideally suited for those who want to be right in the middle of an exciting, vibrant European city. The three-level B&B affords ample room for 5, is comfortably furnished, immaculately clean, quiet and secure. I can't recommend it highly enough for those who want to experience Amsterdam from a conveniently-located venue.
