We have just returned from a weekend at the Flying Pancake, and thought it was a lovely place to stay. Claudia is a warm and friendly host, and most accommodating. We stayed in the first floor apartment, which consisted of one large open plan room, split into bedroom and living area, with a small kitchen around the side. The kitchen has a dishwasher, but no sink. The ensuite bathroom was separately contained, and we loved the steam room / shower! Very relaxing. The room was clean, and we were very comfortable. The breakfast was delivered to our door each morning, and we enjoyed eating our way through many fresh rolls, slices of cheese and meat, and delicious fresh orange juice. The tea selection was very special too. The room was refreshed each day, and it was obvious that our host took much care and attention to guests' comfort. It was a quiet location, while also being convenient for transport to both the Central Station and other main attractions. We would highly recommend the Flying Pancake, and hope to return one day.

My husband Mike and I (Ellie) just returned from a wonderful stay at the Flying Pancake B&B in Amsterdam.
We loved the area - in a residential area, so one really gets the feel of life in Amsterdam - unlike the hotels we've previously stayed in.
Claudia is a wonderful hostess - provides information as needed, serves a scrumptious breakfast basket every morning, acts as a wonderful concierge if requested!
The spacious and relaxing room (more like an apartment) has a wonderful bed and bath, sound systems with CD's, TV with DVD's, and although we didn't partake, she provides a great selection of liquors at no extra charge if you'd like to have a nice drink.
We will definitely return to The Flying Pancake the next time in Amsterdam - if reservations are available. Once the word gets out on this gem, it may be hard to reserve!!!
Highest praises for a wonderful B&B.

We stayed at The Flying Pancake for 3 nights in May 2006. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is very comfortable, stylish and they have thought of all those little extras that make a big difference to your stay.

What a lovely time we had. The Flying Pancake offers fabulous accomodation for the discerning traveller looking for a comfort and style in a quite yet convenient area of this beautiful city. Our host, Claudia, could not have been more helpful offering us advice and recommendations on places to eat and taxi numbers. The room was more than comfortable in every way, the bed large and pillows plump. The piece de resistance was the steamroom shower - just what we needed after a hard days shopping! On previous visits to the city we have always stayed in 5 star hotels, we can safely say that our experience at the Flying Pancake has well exceeded our expectations and will now be top of our list when we return. Many establishments should take a leaf out of Claudia's book.

We only had 3 nights at TFP and can't wait to visit again. The top floor apartment was lovely with better facilities and cleaner than many top quality hotels. Claudia made us very welcome from the start. The weather wasn't good while we were there but the heating and that Steam Shower made it very cosy. Everything top quality, from the linen,TV and CD to real coffee/teas and a good range of drinks (many complimentary) lovely fresh breakfast delivered to the door were just some of the good things about TFP. Not far from the centre, just 4 stops on the tram and in what felt to be a very safe area with nice restaurants close by gave it that bit extra, especially on a first visit to a city.
