I feel a bit sorry for hotel staff that was very helpful and kind, but there are issues with this hotel need to be seriously taken into consideration before booking this hotel :
Tiny rooms - the smallest we ever been and so is the bathroom (airplane feeling) .
The matters is awful!! very soft like it saw better days... so sleep quality is poor .
no water pressure in shower (maybe because we stayed on the 4th floor)
The room wasn't clean during our stay at all. I only noticed that the trash can was unloaded once.

Besides that , as I wrote the staff is very friendly and helpful , the location is good, around 5 minutes from leidseplein area and there are also nice trendy restaurants and cafes near by at Overtoom st.

Bottom line: If you looking for good location hotel and don't mind you night sleep this is a decent value .

Stayed just a few nights on the tail end of a Netherlands/Belgium/Netherlands itinerary. Good small hotel for a short stay if you aren't expecting to get the Four Seasons on a tight budget. Very close to Leidseplein and easy access to/from the airport via public bus if you don't want to cab it, and you don't want to take the train to Centraal and then switch over to a crowded tram. Owners nice and helpful with information. Small elevator, but it's great for when you need to get your luggage up to the room without trudging up the steep staircase. Room a decent size - large wardrobe, double bed, cable tv and a mini fridge to store drinks and snacks. Free WiFi works just fine in the room. Bathroom small with just a shower and not much space to store toiletries, but shower pressure decent. Common area hallways are tiny so rooms really close together, so you can hear some coming/going from other guests, but overall it's a quiet hotel on a quiet street that's very close to lots of sights, shopping and restaurants. While most of the room was clean (bathroom, bed linens), the drapes and some other surfaces could use a good dusting. But for the price, it's worth overlooking a few minor flaws.

As a few reviews already mentioned it is in a nice location, close to the museums and transit. There are many restaurants in the neighbourhood but some did not look all that inviting. It definitely has seen better days. There was some stains on the sheets but they did looked cleaned. Stairs were crazy steep and narrow. Not for small kids or anyone with mobility or balance issues unless you plan to use elevator.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floors at the back to lessen the street noise.

Lets start with the positives. Very clean bathroom with a good, powerful shower. That's pretty much about it. All downhill from here. Location is ok. Five minute walk from Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum and Leidseplein.
The price makes this review average, any more and it would be poor.
The price is economical but some standard aspects of cleanliness should still be expected. The room was very dusty and bed linen wasn't replaced during our three night stay. I couldn't say 100% it had been replaced since the last occupant!
Can't comment on staff friendliness as there was limited interaction.
I would recommend spending an additional £20 per night and getting somewhere further into the canal complex.

We were pleasantly surprised by the small independently owned (we believe) hotel! Our room was clean, comfortable and it had a great little (Julliette) balcony with a side view of the canal. We loved the front desk's recommendation of "Ciro...Passami L'olio!" the Italian restaurant across the street, so much that we ate there twice! The air conditioner worked great and we even had accessable windows for fresh air! The bed was comfortable but most important was how clean the bathroom and shower were! Though some reviews state it is located far from the "hub" however, it is an easy walk to popular sites!

These happy Floridian's will be back!

Room Tip: Make sure to book the balcony room in advance because they are most popular!
