“Good price for a nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

It was much cheaper than other hotels in Amsterdam and it is not to far from the center (tram 2 takes you there in 25 minutes).
Its quit new and workers are nice. The bed could be a bit better and the shower too

The staff spoke very good english, but seemed very busy.
The hotel looked tidy and clean, if you didn't look under the bed (dust bunnies). The hotel maid that cleaned the rooms was effective, but one day she had left the room without finishing it, and didn't return later either.
The staff down at the restaurant were very different. One woman vere rude, and said "she could only see our noses when we came in, not that we didn't speek Dutch". This woman didn't have the ability to smile either, so she probably had a bad day. Other staff members smiled and vere polite.
The Hotel itself is quite a bit away from the city center. At the reception, they only sold day pass tickets to the buses and "trams" at the GVB-line, that had the closest stop about 15 minutes walk away. One of the other lines, Conexxion, stops at the IBM building, only 2-3 minutes away.
I didn't manage to see the hotel as "luxury", as they claimed in their brochures. Most of the socalled artworks hanging in the restaurant could have ben made by a five year-old.

When you enter the hotel, it looks somehow like an art gallery. Expensive exhibits all over the place. The rooms are not too spacious but sufficient. The bed felt somehow like a hammock.
The service was not really satisfactory. The bed linen showed some smaller holes. They offer an eletric water jug so you can prepare coffee and tea. However, the can where the instant coffee and tea bags were stored, was dirty and rusty. The spoons were dirty and gross. So were the mugs.
They offered free WiFi. However, it was slow and the connection was very unstable. I don't choose hotels by the quality of their WiFi, anyway, nowadays it is rather embarrassing if the WiFi quality gives you the impression that the modem was installed in the previous millennium.
The staff changed the towels after our first night though we did not place them on the floor. Why do you advertize for sustainability and still change the towels on a daily basis?
To sum it up, Amsterdam hotels seem to be rather expensive compared to other necessities such as restaurants, cafes, public transport. We paid 67 EUR per person per night without breakfast. I'd not call that a fair rate.

Although this hotel isn't in the centre, I would definitely stay here again.
The 72 hour tram ticket (€16.40) was very worth it as this hotel is about half an hour from the centre.
Room was comfortable and very quiet.
Free Wifi in the room was great.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Only negative points would be there were some things that were lazily cleaned (the drain hole in the sink was very dirty)
There was also no milk for the coffee and tea provided in the room.
That being said, these were not enough to put me off staying again!

I stayed in this hotel last week and can't fault it.
The rooms are really nice and clean and great value for money.
The staff couldn't do enough to help and were always friendly.
Drink prices were reasonable and again bar staff incredibly friendly.
Great taxi service (taxis outside the hotel most of the day).
Breakfast was amazing.
Super-Fast Free Wifi Access.
Truly a unique hotel with a great atmosphere and wonderful staff.
Can't recommend highly enough.

A friend and I stayed here for two nights as part of a groupon deal, we paid a little extra for a better hotel and it was worth every penny!
Rooms and beds were spacious and clean and the staff were incredibly helpful. Not the closest to the city centre (1/2 an hour on the tram to central and 15 minutes to the museum quarter) but the staff provided us with a very helpful map that showed all available routes into town.
Extra pillows provided for both of us with no fuss and we were even allowed to grab coffee in the morning from the restaurant despite not having paid for breakfast!
We both slept incredibly well (though some of that was tiredness from wandering around the city!!) the beds were spacious and very comfortable

The hotel is in a depressing area on the outskirts of Amsterdam, easy to get to from the airport but a bit of a pain to get in to Amsterdam.
Our room was comfortable and the beds were lovely and soft and clean, but the floor was filthy, I did ask the cleaning staff to wash the floor but nothing was done.
Breakfast was great with a good variety of food available, the food was fresh, tasty and hot, it was buffet style so you could eat whatever you wanted to, the staff did come around the tables and gave us plenty of warning when the buffet was about to close.
We used the restaurant in the evening, but when we asked for a table we were told we would have to wait, so we sat down in the lounge however as soon as we sat down another couple asked for a table and were seated immediately, the bar man did speak to the waitress and we were seated as soon as he spoke to her.
We had the set menu. Our starters did not arrive for 45 minutes, it was a salad and the lettuce was dirty and slimy in parts.
More than an hour after the starters arrived we got our main meal, it was a lovely steak but it was spoiled by the chef cooking the mushrooms with rosemary of all things, I can only ask why?
The sweet ( a necklace of sweets) took another 40 minutes to arrive and was the most bizarre thing that I have ever been served, I cannot even describe what it was because whatever it was, was unidentifiable.. We were offered a complimentary drink whilst we were waiting because we were waiting for so long, I did say that I would like a cup of tea, this was brought to me, however I was then NOT offered the tea/coffee that was supposed to be included at the end of the meal so it wasn't complimentary, it was a part of the meal. The meal took two hours and fifty minutes from start to finish, I have never had a meal take so long .
There are some lovely and unique pieces of modern art around the hotel and although expensive you can purchase them if you want to.
Overall the hotel was quirky, comfortable but has some serious flaws, and there is absolutely nothing around the hotel, not even a corner shop.
