When we arrived we were "greeted" by a man behind the door titled reception, he peered round the door and asked if we had a reservation. He asked for ID from the 3 of us and shut the door. He returned with our ID and keys for the rooms and said "top floor" hardly a pleasant welcome from the "the nicest and friendliest hotel in Amsterdam" as quoted on their website.
The rooms were tiny, dirty, had exposed wiring, one bed was broken, the window fell off the hinges when opened and we were provided with 2 hand towels in a double room while my friend in the room next to us had bath and hand towels.
The shared "bathroom" was disgusting, it was dirty the door didn't shut properly, the tap in the sink didn't work and the shower was cold.
There is supposed to be WiFi throughout the building however as you go up the stairs it decreases and when on the top floor there is no WiFi at all.
One of the 2 rooms we had booked was infested with bed bugs. When we complained the staff were not concerned by this. We were given another room and this was no better than the first. When we complained again on our check out, we were told that there was nothing she could do and that we could phone the manager tomorrow if we wanted as he didn't work weekends.
I have also now got a bed bug infestation in my own home because we have brought the bugs back with us. I am now having to pay to get my house fumigated.
This is the worse place I have ever stayed.
Do not go to this hotel.
