“Off-path gem worth visiting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

We try to stay in interesting places when we travel, and Lloyds was definitely a unique stay. Our room was well designed and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly. The entire place had an air of design enthusiasm, and there were a number of places to comfortably settle in and read a magazine or get online with the hotel's free wi-fi. The restaurant is lovely, and the food was very good. Initially we had been worried that it might be too far from places we wanted to go, but like others have said, the tram is literally steps away. And, if your a fan of a fresh Oliebollen, there's a stand within 5 minutes of the hotel!

This hotel is fabulous. It is set on a piece of land between Two canals and is an adaptive reuse of a building that once belonged to the Lloyd shipping line. The style is a perfect example of the Dutch neo-gothic industrial complete with Lloyd corporate artifacts.

It embraces the full range  of accommodation from 1 to 5 stars, with rooms of individual design rather than the ordinary utilitarian feel of chain hotels.

The service is fantastic and the staff are multilingual. Food is reasonably priced with a large common dining area as well as a bar and several quiet spaces.

This hotel is perfect for the jaded business traveller, the design aficionado or parents with kids. I cannot remember another hotel experience as good as this one.

Located a short walk from the number 10 & 26 tram lines.

Room Tip: No pool, no fitness centre, not your usual chain hotel faire

This is the most unusual hotel I have ever stayed in! Our room was so campy. It looked like it was put together with orange legos. We were tired and jet lagged so the comfortable bed was great! The staff was very friendly and accomodating. It is close to the tram stop and we were off and running to the city center often.
The restaurant was good for breakfast. We enjoyed the art exhibits. When we checked in we were told there was a bathroom in the center of our room. We asked to have it changed and it was done without hesitation.
I am not sure I would stay here again. I need more creature comforts, hair dryer, iron etc. The design was certainly interesting!

Great service, exceptional food, especially the oven fresh apple tart, unique setting and in walking distance to many cool places in Amsterdam. Two tram lines the 10 and the 24 take you to pretty much any destination in the center of Amsterdam. tram stations are only about 3 min. walking distance. We LOVED staying there, so keep it secret!

Room Tip: Didn;t see a fitness center or a pool but since I was on vacation is did almost three hours of walki...

The nicest hotel in Amsterdam. Clean and stylish rooms, super nice staff, good food and a nice hotel bar. The beds are extremely large and comfortable. The hotel is next to the tram stop going to the city center. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone going to Amsterdam. It's not the cheapest but it is the nicest and clean.

I was suggested this hotel as it was close to the office that I work for as a consultant.

The hotel is located a couple of minutes from the tram stops and is convenient if your visit is not strictly pleasure. It is convenient to get to the center of the city. However, if one is here for fun and tourism then it will be good to check into hotels closer to the activities one likes.

This hotel is expensive (as most things are in Europe) and does not offer much in room comfort, Room prices are based on what one would like to have, I suggest that one checks the options provided in the hotel website. The hotel menu is priced reasonably and the staffs are nice and friendly.

There is a super market across the road and a couple of cafes, that adds to convenience as well as allowing one to wander around and experience additional choices.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a view towards the tram stations. The entrance to the hotel is on the opposite si...

Innovative design and renovation of a historic building. The bed was extremely large and comfortable. The restaurant was good, and the staff was so helpful and friendly. The staff suggested we buy tram tickets, and we were able to easily get around Amsterdam by tram. The hotel room had the most unusual use of space of any hotel room I have ever seen. It was fascinating design. It's a fascinating hotel, great staff, good restaurant, and excellent value for the money. i would stay again.

Room Tip: I had a three star room and the bed was extremely comfortable.
