“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

A couple of friends and I stayed here for 3 nights and we were very happy with our rooms. Very clean and nicely decorated. All staff extremely polite and welcoming. 100 metre walk to the tram stop to the airport or the central. We will definitely book again! Thank you!

For a reasonably-priced city hotel, the Aalborg more than fit the bill. Room was small but clean, and the public areas are even smaller, but it suited our party of 4 as we were just looking for a place to rest the head. We enjoyed a beer in the comfortable little bar each night to review our day and plan the next one, it was a great convenience to have. Staff were pretty helpful, especially with regards to calling cabs. Not a far walk to public transport. Not as close as it might look on a map to the Rijksmuseum, so unless you want a long walk, hop on a train!

Really easy to get to the hotel which is only 1 tram away from centraal station!
From the second we entered the hotel, we knew it was a great choice, as the people were really helpful and opened for our questions. (and not only because it's in their job description..)

We got a huge spacious room with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom with fancy lighting! Amazing how the hotel looks after the refurbishment and works as you can read about in previous reviews. We also had a bath tub, and a door to enter the garden from the room.
You can have breakfast even if you didn't choose it before, and for only few euros it's a great option as you can try some very nice cheese and cold cuts, you can have freshly made waffles with jams, fruits, and many more! - much better than buy some breakfast in the shop, and you can end up spending much more...

However, what is more important is that all the staff members were super nice, funny and keen to help, even if we just needed a small shop nearby, help with best places to party in the city, or a hot tea in the middle of the night or some updates about the transportation.

Thank you for making our stay much much better than we expected!

Hotel itself was nice, friendly staff but the room we stayed in was not good at all! It was very small and cramped which we could live with as we were only there for 2 nights. We went out for dinner the first evening and came back to ants crawling everywhere on the floor and by the TV. Unfortunately we left our suitcases near this area and had to de-ant our clothes. We were put in a much better, bigger room for that night and assured that someone would come and deal with the problem. When we returned the ants were gone. Again, enjoyed a day and night out and when we returned, even more ants than before! As all the rooms were booked admittedly there was nothing the hotel staff could do but give us salt and cucumbers to keep the ants at bay. Obviously when we checked out they were apologetic but can't really say it was a good stay!

My boyfriend & I stayed here for a week and loved it. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Only downside was that where our room was situated, it was a bit noisy. But this would not put me off and I would return to the hotel next time I visit Amsterdam. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable.
The bike-hire service was also great as it meant we could return them at any time & not have to travel to central to give them back. The hotel also has wifi and a well-stocked bar.

Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for a couple of nights with some friends. The hotel is nicely situated- not too far from the main tourist bustle, but far enough to be out of it. The 4 tram takes you all the way from Centraal to a block away from the hotel so it's location is perfect. Additionally, it faces a lovely and well sized park.

The staff here are super friendly and always willing to help or go the extra mile. They really made us feel comfortable even though we were just there for a short period.

The room we had was light and airy. It was a double twin room with a well-sized bathroom and balcony so it was a godsend- it was a hot few days in Dam!
They hire out their own bikes which was a bonus; it saved us having to travel to get some- they were on our doorstep. Bikes are truly the best way to see Amsterdam and would recommend anyone seeing the city that way.

On our last day were we taken on a little tour of the new part of the hotel they're building- which truly looks awesome. The name and decor would have changed massively by the time I return to this hotel, but I would know the staff would still make it a wonderful place to stay.

A good and cheap hotel if all you want is a comfortable bed to sleep in, a breakfest and public transportation that takes you to the city center.
The small room is better than we expected, nothing fancy but clean. The only problem is that you can easily listen to the other rooms if the people are speaking too loud or if someone is cleaning it.

Although the location is a bit further away, there are trams that take you to the city center just around the corner. Also supermarkets, restaurantes and a Hema store nearby.

I would stay there again!
