“Good hotel , needs updated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Good basic hotel in good location , rooms are small and basic but kept clean - it really could look cool if it had been decorated in a more modern way , double bed , small desk and single wardrobe.
Bed was comfortable and clean , showeroom really needed attention with chipped tiles and broken sink. Had decent shower with plenty hot water and radiator in room was always on when we where there so room was warm .
Location was quite good and transport to it was very good and easy to understand , staff where pleasent and helpful if needed .
Took breakfast one morning which had a decent selection of breads , cheeses , meats as well as orange ,coffee and teas . There is also a small bar for guests .
The room was only something like £34 per night so considering this i feel it was good value .

i stayed here with a group of girl friends, we got 2 triple rooms which had alot of space and were brilliant and a small double which was small but nothing to bad to complain about. the lobby and bar area is just beautiful and you get a proper Amsterdam vibe with it being all quirky and unique. can i just add the paintings in the lift was fantastic made me feel so wow. if you love things arty and want to feel like your staying in a local place in Amsterdam then this is where you should stay. it is about a half an hour walk from the very main center but the walk is really good going through loads of different squares and going to the local coffee shops which where so much better then the main tourist ones. If you are going to Amsterdam to do everything touristy and just be a lemon then this hotel isnt for you. however if you want to explore real Amsterdam and have a magical, wonderful experience then this place could not be more perfect and i couldnt recommend it more. I am returning in the new year and very much looking forward to it

Room Tip: if you want one with quite alot of space then go for a triple as they are fantastic, the small doubl...

Terrible place. Very hard to get into town. get the number 4 towards the station or youll go in the wrong direction. Impossible to walk anywhere. If you want to see Rembrantplane you have to get off the tram so it is awkward. Visit the Eden Hotel instead. You can walk to the centre from there.

Staff were rude and unhelpful. They make you pay 2 Euro for every tea. Kettle not provided in room. Rip off mentality.

Room Tip: avoid this hotel

We found it difficult to book a triple room and were delighted to find this hotel, we were pleasantly surprised with the room, nice and spacious with plenty of space for all three of us to move around and get ready. The room faced the street but thankfully we had no problems with noise, room was clean, beds were comfortable and checking and checking out was very quick and effortless. The bathroom had plenty of towels and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water, the only negative thing I found was the water from the shower gathered in the bath when you stood in for your shower, otherwise I found this to be a pleasant hotel and would have no hesitation in staying there again.

The rooms were small, no door between the bathroom and small hall. Will highlight that the rooms were very clean, proper handled. Due to the location, 1-2 times per night we could hear loud noises (airplane).
Overall experience in line with a 3 stars accommodation.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2014

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in October. Easy to find opposite a well known park. Welcoming staff and we got a bigger room (triple) than we had booked (double) which was great. The room was quiet despite being on a street since it was facing the rear of the building. The little balcony was a pleasant addition. We didn't have breakfast here since there are plenty of nice cafes around the area. It's about half an hour walk to the main part of the center from the hotel or about 5-10 mins on the tram. We hired a bike from the hotel which was easy since they were right outside the hotel and enjoyed a day cycling round the city.
The bar is open 24/7 so can get a drink if you come back late from town.
Rooms were clean and spacious - most central hotels in Amsterdam have small rooms in comparison. The rate was very reasonable considering hotels are generally expensive in Amsterdam. Staff were welcoming and pleasant. We would stay here again.
