Just to say that this was without doubt one of my best trips to the Netherlands. It was lovely to be so close to the water and enjoy a bit of contact with the passing wildlife (swans, ducks and tourist boats). It was delightful to be able to come and go as you please and be so close to the city centre without the noise and hassle. The boat is fully equipped and allows you to step into someone's home, enjoying all services and conveniences. Sitting on the patio at night was wonderful and beats any hotel. The owner was charming and helpful.
Definitely recommend this as a cheaper and fun alternative to hotels.

Amsterdam is a wonderful City, and I wanted to introduce my wife to its charm on our way back from Italy. At 04:30 I sent an e-mail requesting accommodation, by 07:30 I had an answer (good to go!) by 14:30, we had flown from Italy to Amsterdam, and our charming host and Major Domo, Efren, had directed us to his place (a short tram ride from Centraal Station), met us, and showed us his WONDERFUL home away from home. It really does have everything you could possibly want; it is neat as a pin, and clean as a a whistle AND - LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION - you are right in the center of things, yet the peace and quiet = tranquility +++
Efren is such a natural host; his sense of hospitality is a rare find in this day of cookie-cutter service and impersonal interaction. He even walked us to the nearest market to show us where everything is!
I can't wait to get back to Amsterdam for another, longer visit - we know where we want to stay next time!!

A business trip to Africa had me connecting in Amsterdam, a city I've always wanted to visit. I didn't realize how lucky I was at the time, but a last-minute cancellation on Efren's houseboat allowed me to enjoy what would be one of the best accomodation experiences I've ever had. Efren is a wonderful host - gracious and thoughtful, and his houseboat is truly lovely. I will definitely return, next time with friends. But I'll be sure and reserve well in advance, since word is already out.

Efren, thanks for everything.

It is really waste of time if someone visits Amsterdam without staying in this houseboat.
To stay here is the way to feel the spirit of this lovely familiar little big city.
In which five star hotel have You the opportunity to feed swans from your breakfast table?

Honestly...the reviews are true and the houseboat is that great. The host, Efren, loves his job and certainly knows how to make a warm, comfortable space. It was our first time to Amsterdam (30's couple) and we were a bit skeptical about giving our credit card number to someone we didnt even know overseas. I am glad that we decided to. The location turned out to be perfect being able to walk to almost every major attraction in the city. Feed the swans for us!!
