Emailed to ask about info on rooms for Sept, they ignored my email, so 2 days later I emailed again they still ignored my email, they were probably busy dealing with customers!!.

Have now booked 4 nights with a rival B&B

so much has already been said about this wonderful home in amsterdam.... it is all true.

save yourself a lot of research, time & energy and just book a stay with peter in his lovely historic bed and breakfast.

the very first thang i do is check for cleanliness-- it is a top priority, more than location, cost, decoration, etc. this is a very clean bed & breakfast. the bonus of course is that it is lovely and very special. the antiques and decorations are well appointed and very welcoming... you feel like this is your home away from home.

cannot thank peter enough for his kindness and consideration throughout our stay... and we stayed for quite awhile. (6 nights....) peter makes it a perfect vacation, but also helped us get to our meeting at the conference center....

the breakfast each day was different, and one better than the other. how fun is this?

there were also "treats" and drinks left in the common sitting area for us each night.

we stayed in the "boxer" room, but were able to see the other rooms.... one could book any of the rooms and not be disappointed.

My wife and I are Canadians and over the past 10 years have traveled extensively in Europe, having visited a total of 12 countries and during these stays we have stayed at more than 20 B&Bs. Upon our recent return from spending 3 weeks in Holland and Belgium, we simply had to write TripAdvisor (the first time we have done so) and proclaim Boogaards Bed and Breakfast the best in all of Europe!! In June 2009 we spent 8 wonderful days in Amsterdam – made all the more wonderful by our stay at Boogaards B&B. Peter was the consummate host…charming, gracious, informative, and helpful in everyway possible. The location was ideal – on a quiet street yet only a few minutes walk from Central Station. The room was immaculate, plenty of space, quiet and meticulously clean. But all good B&Bs have nice rooms and good location – what separated Boogaards from all the rest was the fabulous treatment we received while there. Peter, his partner Tom, and the two terriers (Pepe and Curly) were a joy to stay with. From the elegant breakfasts to the late night chats in the common living area to Peter never failing to bring me an early morning coffee when I sat on the front bench for my first cigarette of the day! When we travel we are usually up and gone by 9 am but during this trip, we never left the house before 11 am – so we could truly enjoy the marvelous breakfast and the chat with Peter. Whatever we needed Peter provided - great suggestions on where to eat, lent us guidebooks, directions and advice on various day trips….the perfect host. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed (and pampered). To visit Amsterdam and not stay with Peter would be a shame. We recommend it most highly – you will not be disappointed.
