We chose Boogaard's Bed and Breakfast based on the reviews in TripAdvisor and it did not let us down. This was the perfect place to stay in Amsterdam. Peter was the perfect host, eager to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed Amsterdam. Our lovely and comfortable room was next to a lounge which we shared with only one other room. Here we could relax with hot or cold drinks and nibbles from a small kitchen (a nice touch).

Describing a B&B as a Home from Home is an old cliche, but sitting around the kitchen table eating a delicious breakfast while happily chatting with Peter and the other guests, made it felt like home.

It is a perfect place to stay and perfectly located. Only a 10 minute walk from the railway station, the B&B is located in the heart of some of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam. Well placed for Anne Frank's House, all of the other sights are in walking distance or can be reached by boat or tram.

Superb restaurants and bars are all around and in walking distance, so take a stroll or ask Peter for a recommendation.

Surely the best place to stay in Amsterdam.

Have just got back from Amsterdam and 3 glorious nights at Peter Boogaard's Bed and Breakfast. Peter is such an amazing host, always helpful with great advice on the best places in the City. We stayed in the Jack Russell room which had the most comfortable bed. Between our room and the Pug room is a lounge area which has tea and Coffee facilities, comfy sofas and free internet access, not forgetting the plates of sumptuous homemade cakes left on the mantlepiece. Have to say, Peter's brownies should go down in history as being the most delicious ,chocolaty brownie you will ever eat! Oh. And let's not forget the breakfast. Every morning we were greeted with the most beautifully laid table and generous helpings of pancakes, bagels and quiches. He even accommodated my awkward request of wanting decaf tea. You could quite happily go without eating until evening. Every morning was such a sociable time to as you got to meet the other guests and chat with Peter.

Peter is not the only star of the show. A special mention has to be given to his two dogs Pepe and Curly who are the most adorable woofs you could ever wish to meet.

Peter. Thank you so much for inviting us into your home. We could not have wished for a better place to stay.

Vicky :-)

We stayed at Boogard's for 4 nights over the weekend of the Amsterdam marathon (which we were participating in), and the B & B exceeded our best expectations. The directions provided by Peter were perfect and made for an easy walk from Centraal Station to the property which is located centrally but on a quiet side street, near the Jordaan area. Our rooms were spotless, well furnished, and shared a great lounge area with small kitchen equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, plus a complimentary bottle of wine, and some freshly baked cakes !! It was more like a small apartment than a pair of rooms.

Peter's breakfasts were amazing, with a different freshly prepared main dish every morning, plus an accompaniment of pastries, jams, cereal, yoghurt, juice & coffee. As we were up early on marathon day and not able to have breakfast at the normal time Peter provided us with a fantastic range of breakfast items in our kitchen to eat before we left, and on our return had made us some great chocolate cup cakes.

Peter is a great host, with an attention to detail that made our stay a great pleasure, and he even gave us a small souvenir of our stay in Amsterdam on our last morning.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Booagaard's B & B to anyone wanting to stay in Amsterdam, and would definitely stay there again on a future visit.

My husband and I stayed here on the last leg of our short European trip. It was a very short walk from the train station and were so happy to see that the house was as lovely as the pictures.

We had a room on the first (second) floor. I think we stayed in the Dalmation Room. The room was charming. The public room shared with the other bedroom on the first floor was very nice. Peter kept it stocked with drinks and snacks, which came in very handy throughout the day and night.

Peter, as everyone has already mentioned, is very warm and welcoming. We looked forward to our breakfasts – as much to talk to him as to eat the delicious food!

Peter was so helpful, arranging for taxis and recommending wonderful restaurants that we would have never found otherwise.

I would definitely recommend Boogaards to anyone visiting Amsterdam. What a wonderful value!! It was our favorite place of the whole trip.

My husband and I loved Amsterdam and especially our stay in Boogaard's. It was an easy train ride and quick walk with our roller luggage to the B&B. We were able to leave our luggage to explore the city while we waited for our room. Luckily it was made available at 2pm which was very nice as we were tired and jetlagged. The beds were very comfortable!

Peter was a wonderful host! I thoroughly enjoyed his excellent (and changing) breakfasts. He let us borrow his niece and nephew's museum cards so my husband and I were able to by-pass lines and get into all museums for free! He also had great restaurant recommendations. My favorite part was sitting down to breakfasts with Peter and the other guests each morning. It was a wonderful way to share travel tips and experiences.

The shared living room with laptop and small kitchen were also a wonderful plus.

As a side note I think Amsterdam is a wonderful hub to get almost all other European, Asian and African destinations. I loved the city and will definitely be back and of course will be staying at Boogaard's. Thank you Peter for a wonderful start to our honeymoon!
