My husband and I spent two nights in the Pug room and three nights in the Dalmatian room at Boogaard's in July. We echo all the superlatives in the previous reviews here: GREAT comfort and cleanliness, amazing gourmet breakfasts (best in any B&B or hotel we've ever stayed in), lots of attention to detail and wonderful generosity from Peter, beautiful decor, excellent location (on an 'island' between four of the loveliest canals in Amsterdam), peaceful and quiet, and two of the cutest canines, Pepe and Curly, you're ever likely to meet. Peter's an exceptional host; we LOVED chatting with him, sharing lots of laughs and stories - he has a superb sense of humour. We loved the well-stocked fridges in the communal areas and Peter's delicious homemade cakes. All of this represents exceptionally good value for the going rate. We met a number of lovely people over breakfast every morning. Peter creates a very relaxing, easy ambience at the table. I could go on ... ! We will most definitely return to Boogaard's - still thinking about our magical stay there every day! Peter has given us such lovely memories to cherish.

My wife & I stayed at Boogaart's for 4 nights in July/08. We left telling Peter that his B+B was one of the nicest we have visited. His attentiveness to all guests was so sincere; he served delicious homemade fresh breakfasts. The accommodations in a renovated centuries-old home were excellent; the locations central to everything. Buy an "I am Amsterdam" pass at Central Station for entry into the city's museums, a few canal trips and all the transit. If you plan to visit this wonderful city, this is THE place to stay.

Three nights in this wonderful Band B, located just a few blocks from the central train station. Our host, Peter, was very helpful in suggesting dining and touring options. And the location made it possible ot walk to most every intended site!
The rooms were just as advertised, comfortable and relaxing. An extra bonus of the fridge in the living room allowed us to bring home some cheese from the neighborhood shop and keep the wine chilled as well. I would return to Boogaard's again if we are lucky enough to return to Amsterdam.

There is a good reason why Peter's B&B is number one on this site, he looks after his guest very well and has a lovely authentic house in a great location and it is decorated beautifully. What more can you ask for?
