“Nice rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014 via mobile

Just spent 2 nights here, rooms were nice, bathroom was spectacular. Situated in a really nice part of town. Friendly service, check in desk staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Think I would prefer card keys to the traditional keys. Managed to leave my key in the door. Fortunately somebody took it and handed it into reception. Don't think they looked round my room first.

Stayed at the College Hotel after advice from a business associate and must admit my enthusiasm was somewhat reluctant when I heard it was an old school run by students...
My goodness, how wrong could I be? This is one of the most remeberable stays I have had in any hotel and look forward to my next travel to Amsterdam. Rooms and interior absolute exuisite, restaurant same. Had dinner here in the evening and maybe the food could have been lifted half a star. Had business meetings at the hotel as well and facilities were top, as well as service.

Location was great for the museum district. Easy to get on trams and walk to restaurants. Rooms were small and dark, but very well kept. Chef and restaurant were very nice and accommodating for gluten free and other dietary needs. One major criticism is the lack of concierge. However, staff were very willing with making reservations, directions, etc.

The College hotel is in the museum district of Amsterdam. It's a lovely looking boutique hotel, the decor is great and the atmosphere is good. The location is not as central as I would have liked and is a fairly long walk into the center of the city.

The staff were very helpful. I arrived at 11am and left my bag, returning around midday from a short walk. My room still wasn't ready but they moved me into another room so that I could check in early - much appreciated.

I had a club sandwich for my lunch which was lovely, and the breakfast was really very large indeed - pretty good value. My corner room was clean, with very high ceilings and huge, huge windows. There was only one English speaking TV channel - BBC World News. The bathroom was nicely decorated with a lovely shower, quite dark but not pokey.

All in all, a good hotel - I'd recommend it.
