nice hotel situated in a quieter area near a lovely park. short walk or tram ride from centre. we had 2 rooms on top floor at front of hotel with fantastic views over south side of city. parking in streets difficult but hotel had very convenient secure parking service away from hotel which was excellent & prompt service.

This modern hotel is well located on a canal, a few minutes walk from the Rijksmuseum. This makes it on the edge of what is a very pleasant area, with lovely houses, and some very pleasant restaurants, and on the edge of a rather less salubrious area.
We came so that my teenagers could get a taste of Amsterdam, and needed a room that would sleep three.
We had a superior room, which was fine - two twin beds and a sofabed. The room was clean, but shabby, and probably dating from the early 1990s. It was a good size, and the TV had loads of channels, including 6 UK stations, which was handy for when the children were bored with site seeing.
The bathroom was immense, and had facilities for someone who needed disabled access, with a seated shower separate from the other one which was in the bath. The problem with this was that the shower screen leaked to such an extent that the floor was flooded after a fairly modest shower. This is fine as long as one is careful, but the floor was quite slippery.
We didn't eat at the hotel, although we had a drink one evening. We were staggered that the bar closed at 11pm, and although there is a pleasant courtyard to sit in and have a drink, this closes at 10pm because of the neighbouring flats.
Staff were helpful, and the hotel is clean. It is far from luxury, but fine for a couple of days in a city where hotels can be extortionate.
My sister had a queen room, which was fine for one, but would have been impossible for more than two.
We were there at a particularly hot time and the air conditioning really couldn't manage at all, so do be careful in the summer.

Stayed here on 7th august for 2nights with my 16 yr old son. Hotel was nice and clean but room were bit outdated. Felt for the cost of the rooms it could have been little bit more modern but rooms were spacious compared to other hotels I had seen when looking for a place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Felt 3pm check in was very late as we had been up since 4am travelling and arrived at hotel at 9.30 but they have a luggage room so was able to leave bags there.Found room very hot at night as windows don't open but I got a fan when requested at desk which was perfect. Only ate once in hotel.. Club sandwich which was nice, didnt have breakfast as €20 very steep per person but did look like a good variety of hot and cold food. Hotel was only few mins walk from from van gogh museum. Tram was about 30 second walk down to nxt street... Tram 16 and 24 took you straight to Dam Square also Central station. Overall nice hotel if you wanna get out of d hussle of centre but still want to be close to everything. I still think it was overpriced as I have stayed in much more modern hotels for half the price here but then again it is Amsterdam.. A city with plently to eat, see and do.

Spent 2 nights in Amsterdam in July.. wanted to try and find a hotel in a good area for a reasonable price and found it here. My friend and I looked at another NH hotel (Amsterdam Centre), but figured this one was a better location slightly further removed from the center of the action. Great location near the Museumplein, especially with excellent weather. Our room was decent-sized (by European standards) with nice big windows overlooking the canals. The free Wi-Fi was somewhat limited, but otherwise worked fairly consistently. The staff at the front desk was largely helpful. Would definitely stay at this hotel if I returned to Amsterdam.

stayed here for 3 nights Fri - Sun and had the best time ever.
We were upgraded to a superior room on 7th floor , massive windows gave panoramic views over the city plus the pretty canal opposite the hotel. So pleased we didn't opt for a city centre hotel as this area was lovely, lots of nice bars and restaurants nearby plus shops and a brilliant street market. Obviously with the name museums are practically on top of this hotel as are some beautiful parks and gardens. We got a 197 bus outside the airport got us to and from the hotel within half an hour which was easy and very convenient also a fraction of the cost of taxis.
Loved having an ice machine on the landing in the hotel plus a very delicious breakfast.
Only slight complaint was not having air-con in public areas of the hotel but we will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

I booked this hotel for my boyfriends 30th birthday present. Having emailed in advance to inform the hotel of this, they instantly offered a free upgrade to a room on the seventh floor with views over the canal.

The room was spacious, with beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows giving a view across the city. The air con was highly effective despite the hot temperatures outside, and we were pleasantly surprised to find an actual double bed as opposed to two singles pushed together. There was a flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a large bathroom with bath and over shower.

Upon our return to the hotel room on my boyfriends actual birthday, we were pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary bottle of wine and a note from the DM wishing him a happy birthday. What a lovely touch!

The location is excellent for visiting the museums with several nice restaurants in the vicinity. Overall an excellent choice if you want to avoid the tourist trap that is dam square.

Room Tip: Sixth or seventh floor for panoramic views of the city.
