“Nice quiet hotel in Museum quarter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Just back from a long weekend staying at this hotel, we were on the 7th floor and had a lovely large room over looking the canal which was bliss. One side of the room was just all glass floor to ceiling windows and the views were excellent. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and as the hotel was so quiet we never waited on a table etc. The nearest tram stop is approx 10 minutes walk away although it is a safe walk home even late on at night. The only down side is there isnt any atmosphere at all about the hotel even in the bar area everything is very hush hush. I would however go back again to stay.

Room Tip: ask for seventh floor with a canal view

A very good hotel with pleasant service. Clean tidy with nice view over a canal. Free wifi in your room was very useful. The only slight negative was a 30min walk to the centre. The rooms are comfortable and a good size with good amenities although a little dated by old CRT tv.

I stayed just one night in this hotel, before embarking for a cruise in Amsterdam. I had a room with canal view, which is quite wonderful. This is not a very large hotel, situated in a quiet part of the city, not far from main attractions. The room was large and clean but it needed a little updating (the carpet and curtains were stained etc). I had breakfast included and it was ok. I really liked it.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a canal view.

I've stayed at NH Museum Quarter Hotel for two nights (from 29th to 31st of August).
Initially I had some problems finding the hotel because, similar to what happen in the other NH Hotel that I've stayed in Brussels, that map that comes with the reservation it's not very helpful since it only shows the street above and bellow the hotel...
Regarding the hotel itself I must say that I loved the room (Room 609) - it was big, confortable and appealing (the same goes for the bathroom). The front desk staff was also very helpful during the entire stay and, in terms of security, I must say that I was really pleasantly surprised since it was necessary to pass the key card for entering the hotel after a certain hour at night.
The hotel is located in front of one the many canals of Amsterdam which also gives a nice feel of the city.
The only issue that I can point out regarding the hotel is the location - it is located very near the Museumplein (Museum Square where the Van Gogh Museum, the Reich Museum and the IAmsterdam sign are located) but not close to anything else since the center of the city is not very close to this points (like 2 kms walking).
But, that said, I must say that I recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a good hotel with wonderful rooms and a great staff.

We had a top floor room overlooking the canal, which was pretty. The room was large and clean. The hotel staff were friendly. Location was great as it was quiet, next to the canal and we were able to walk everywhere. It took us about 15-20mins to walk to the centre so we didn't use the tram, although that is very close and frequent if you do wish to use it. Lovely little cafes, bars and restaurants nearby.

The hotel suited our purpose, but little improvements could lead to a higher rating. Only two pillows, plus one spare; only two teabags per day. Breakfast was offered at 20 euros per day when breakfast deals at 7 or 8 euros were on offer within walking distance. The hotel lacked atmosphere, not least because the routs from entrnace to stairs / lift did not pass reception, so virtually no human contact
