“Best location and deal in Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

I've stayed in other hotels in Amsterdam that cost more and were smaller, this one is in by far the best location in the city. It's just across the street from Centraal Station, so when you arrive into Amsterdam Schipol Airport, you can take the train strait here and exit in the direction of Damrak. You'll see the Bellevue Hotel to the right directly in front of you. The train from Schipol to Centraal station is about 4 euros per person, a cab is around 50 euros. The hotel is clean, staff professional and attentive, rooms a little bigger than some other pricier hotels in the area. I stayed on the 5th floor, the top floor, facing the street and wasn't noisy at all. It's really the perfect hotel for someone looking for the best location with a low budget price. I will definitely be staying here again when I go back next summer. Oh, and stay away from the Italian restaurant just to your right as you exit the hotel, the one on the little street around the corner. Horrible food, and the staff stood at our table and stared at us the entire time we were eating, very uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor as the street can be noisy.

I instantly felt welcomed by the super friendly desk clerk. She discussed some money-saving items such as hop on/ hop off bus tickets, packages for some of the touristy places at discounted prices available at the desk. Seeing that I was using a cane to walk with, she showed us the lift for easier access to our room.

The room was very large, clean, had comfortable beds, and a rather large (for European hotels) bathroom. My only complaint was that our room faced the street and people were loud outside into the late hours of the night. (Not the hotel's fault at all.)

I can't express enough how much I enjoyed staying at this hotel. I highly, highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that isn't facing the streets unless you are a night owl,

We spent one night in the Bellevue before moving around the country. If I were back in Amsterdam, I would stay there again. The male and female receptionists were the most friendly we have ever met in a hotel and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was basic but comfortable and the location was excellent, beside the Train station and about 10 minutes walk to Dam Square.

We arrived in Amsterdam via train from the airport and were delighted to find the Bellevue Hotel was just a 5 minute walk from Centraal Station. Because we arrived mid morning our room was not yet ready but the staff were very friendly and helpful, stored our luggage and suggested we go the the little cafe/breakfast room attached to the hotel for coffee while we waited. Within a couple of hours we were in our room - quite small but very comfortable and quiet. Bellevue is only a short walk from the Canal Tour companies, the Hop-on-off Bus, Dam Square and lots of eateries. The staff helped with tour tickets, maps and restaurant suggestions. There is a tram stop out front but we walked everywhere because of the Hotel's central location.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is ver convenient to almost everything. Right across the canal from Centraal Station. Within walking distance of Dam Square, multiple canal tour companies, Van Gogh museum and the infamous Red Light District. Only negative is the room size. If you are traveling with a buddy and stay here you will almost be sleeping together on two beds side by side. I would definitely still stay here again.

Although the rooms are small, the hotel is brimming with charm. We had a top floor room with a view onto the street, which made for a little noise from the late-night trams but certainly added to the character.

Breakfast was the best I have had, at any hotel.

hey, so I was a little skeptical with all the reviews on here before I arrived... but got there early around 10am (literally 5 minutes walk from the main central station) and they told us our room was ready, with a personal request for a "5th Floor Window View OF The Square" staff were friendly and happy to help my request and checked us in!

Then we went exploring to find everything was literally walking distance from the hotel as you're smack bang in the city, we didn't even bother getting bikes we just walked everywhere!

Now, the room was pretty small with various ware and tare marks on the wall and carpet looks a little worn and dirty - bring slippers - which is why I only rated it "Average" but for a place to rest, freshen up with no frills at an awesome location for exploring then this is the place!

..was only there for 3 days, would recommend for a short city stay!

oh and did I mention the 24 hour McDonald's around the corner for when you got the munchies :)

Room Tip: I hear the 5th floor window view of the central station is the room to have... awesome for people wa...
