“Great food, lovely staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

The food here is great. We just had two pizzas, but they were typically italian and very good. The staff are lovely and also typically Italian! Highly recommended

“Very good Italian eatery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014 via mobile

We were impressed with the food at this small restaurant in what is admittedly a very touristy area. We wanted somewhere local to our apartment so went on the advice of TA.

Not disappointed - pizza was very nice (lovely crust) as were both the pasta and saltimboca with a twist starter. Add a desert and coffee and all very reasonable considering the location. We thought the service was friendly, and it was nice to be able to see the chefs at work.

Wet night, knackered after a day at RAI, friendly welcome, Italian beer and a great Pizza, table for six, happy days.

Nice fresh ingredients, menu and specials looked good - will visit again.

“The most overrated restaurant in Amsterdam”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

We live in Amsterdam. The glowing reviews suckered us. This place is for non-discriminating eaters. Located in one of the worst, most touristified areas of the city (positive spin: "convenient"), the decor is bizarre and welcome not the most welcoming. Service was unaccommodating to odd. The food was mediocre, ungenerous, unimaginative and over-priced (value for money). It pays not to believe everything you read and to stray from Rembrantplein. We won't be coming back here even if we were paid to.

“Disappointing. Will not be back.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

After reading some good reviews, we decided to try Eatmostfera for ourselves. We are locals by the way (not tourists) and usually don't associate the middle of the city in a highly touristy area with good restaurants (many tourist traps to be found off of Rembrandtplein) but decided to give this one a try. Overall experience - average to disappointing. There were 4 of us dining, we all agreed that we shall not return. First, service - average (not particularly attentive, not particularly helpful, not generous at all). No olive oil on the table (had to ask), bread served was fairly hard, food served is delivered to table in a assembly line manner with no comment - be it an explanation as to what the small selection of cut meats and cheeses that were delivered to our table worth 27 Euro are (could have been bought at albert heijn next door and we would not know) or to wish us to enjoy our meal or to ask if we would like some cheese or pepper with the dish etc etc, just some basic courtesy type of service - nope, nothing. Had to wave of few occasions to get attention (generally don't like waving at staff in restaurants). House wine for 17 Euro a bottle was probably worth about 4 euro at a liquor shop (i.e. not very nice). The food - basic, not too imaginative, not too generous, fairly bland. We had 3 pizzas (all very predictable - can't fault it but nothing to write home about either - very predictable combinations and ingredients) and one ravioli dish - bland, boring, very small portion served as main dish which could easily pass as an appetizer. I have had my fair share of raviolis in my life - I generally like to try the 'homemade' version on the menu - this one was one of the most disappointing and boring ravioli dishes I have ever had. The upside - the pizza crust was good and well baked (they do have proper pizza oven and it shows). The toppings however - basic combinations, nothing special. Creativity, added value of sorts at this restaurant - zero. Generosity - zero. Staff attentiveness- minimal. Plenty of good italian alternatives in town - save your money and skip Eatmosfera.
