“Lovely hotel & great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

We stayed at this hotel at the start of our Europe trip & were very impressed. The check in was easy & the reception staff were so friendly & helpful. We asked several questions & all were answered with great accuracy & advise. The rooms were a good size & very clean. The only thing that I didn't like was there was no fridge in the room. The area was great as it was right next to the station & the transport in Holland is so easy to understand so getting around was easy. There are also a lot of restaurants & shops close to the hotel so if you don't feel like going into Amsterdam you can find what you want in the area. I would stay here again.

We have continually been pleased with Hampton by Hilton properties and this one was no exception. The hotel was conveniently located to the airport a short train ride away and much easier on the budget than the central Amsterdam hotels. It was pouring rain when we arrived in Amsterdam and this Hampton was so close to the train station that we never even got wet.

After a quick check in, we were given a beautiful, bright, spacious room with a King Sized "uber-comfie" bed and pillows. Because of the weather, we didn't really want to go far, so were happy to find a couple very nice restaurants next door. We opted for a higher-end Chinese Restaurant called "East Harbour". The food was amazing, so delicious and hot. We had been traveling for six weeks and some good quality Chinese food is just what we needed.

The Hampton's have a breakfast included which we thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast had a great selection of food and beverages. Plenty to choose from to start the day right.

I would totally recommend this property and wouldn't hesitate to stay there on a future visit to Amsterdam.

Decent value and great location for the Amsterdam Arena. Book early for a decent price. Comfortable bed and a nice walk-in shower. Feels clean and modern. Friendly staff and quiet rooms. I was on the top floor. Handy for the station too. About 20mins on metro 54 from Amsterdam Central station. Free wi-fi and a handy small business centre.

Room Tip: High up is great, but seems a quiet area once the local events are over.

If you are looking for somewhere close to the Arena and the Metro/Railway station in Amsterdam, you could not do better than this! The 'Hampton by Hilton' brand is predictable in terms of what it offers, and the Arena Boulevard did not disappoint at all. It is modern, efficient and clean, absolutely right for the market sector for which it is designed to service.

It is difficult to criticise: the rooms are cleverly designed (eg. the bathroom shares a door with the wardrobe), and one hardly notices that they are actually quite small, until you realise that there is hardly anywhere to put anything when it comes to unpacking! The kettle is a triumph of design over practicality, and steam rises to burn you hand when you pour our the water! But at least there IS a kettle, and two mugs are provided with coffer, Lipton's tea and some white colouring that is meant to fool the drink into thinking that milk has been added.

Its proximity to the Arena means that one can overhear some of the associated noise - just consider it a perk of the location. similarly, it is possible to hear the trains, but not excessively so.

The bed was a little hard, which was OK for me, but less so for my wife. The pillows were very soft, which was OK for my wife, but less so for me. Nevertheless, we both slept adequately well.

I liked the large print on the bathroom accessories - what I fail to understand in many places is why people print "Shampoo" or "Moisturising Lotion" or "Body wash" on the containers in a font so small that you need to have a scanning electron microscope with you in the shower to read it to make sure you use the right one! Or at least a pair of glasses!

Breakfast, which was included in the price, was the usual serve-yourself-all-you-can-eat variety. The bar facilities are limited, but, if you want to pick through the human detritus deposited by Arena-goers, there are alternative options nearby.

All in all, a pleasant experience. And next time we're in Amsterdam, I expect we'll be back.

My bag was stolen from inside the hotel! There is no supervision who entered and the roximity to the train station running bad in this case. The hotel staff did nothing to help and even did not check the security cameras.I think that the safety of my belongings important than anything else so the score is so low.

The hotel is located at the arena area (football stadium ajax, ziggo dome and heineken music hall). Easy to access by car. Perfect located if you have to be at one of these locations. Given almost direct access to metro and train it is also very suitable if you want to be in Amsterdam centre and not want to stay in the centre. The Hotel has an own parking facility which is cheap and well arranged.

The hotel is straight forward nothing special, nothing wrong. Modern and clean. The rooms are small but efficiently designed with everything in. Only shower no bath. Breakfast ok. The only thing I never understand is that such a modern well thought over hotel does not have a 1.80 width bed standard. Off course you can sleep together in a 1.60 bed but it is less comfortable.

Free well working wifi

Room Tip: If you need to be in Amsterdam and come with your own car. This hotel is an alternative. Easy access...
