I stayed at this property 27 to 31 December 2013 and was very pleased with all aspects of my experience as a guest here.
Others have mentioned that the rooms are a bit smaller than what we typically have in the USA but they are well laid out and comfortable. The free, high speed, wifi is a bonus as many hotels in Europe charge (alot!) for.
The free breakfast is excellent and offers much more than what is typically served at Hamptons in the USA. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the property.
Every staff member with whom I interacted was friendly, courteous and extremely helpful, as well as multilingual. The folks at the front desk are always happy to provide advice on how to use the local Metro, see the sights, etc. Transit passes are available for sale at the front desk, which are a big bargain vs. the cost of individual rides on the trams, buses and subways.
You can save a lot of money on you trip by staying here vs. a comparable hotel in the center of Amsterdam. There is a large rail/metro station just a short walk from the hotel and the trip to Centraal Station is only about 15 minutes on Metro line 54, from which you can easily transfer to a tram, bus or boat/ferry.
The only drawback to staying here, in my experience, is that the hotel shuttle bus service from Schipol Airport does not serve the property. You could take the train to/from the airport, but that might be difficult if you lots of luggage. In that case, your only other option is to take a taxi, which costs somewhere between 50 and 55 euros each way.
I would gladly stay at this property again!
