“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

I was happy to be in a clean, new room with good internet access and a healthy selection of English televsion. Lots of natural light in rooms but also great curtains for night darkness! Nice Lobby and Good breakfast!

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Amsterdam. The rooms are small and nothing amazing but they are exceptionally clean. The bed is very comfortable as well. One downside was the water pressure is not all that strong. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was excellent.

While the hotel is not close to city center all you have to do is walk next door to the metro station. Additionally many restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.

Very good hotel in overall except for the place where the breakfast is served which is too small for such a large hotel. During breakfast serving hours the lobby was crowded and packed with people. Apart from this, the hotel is in an excellent location for someone who does not want to pay for central Amsterdam accommodation. There is a Metro station next to the hotel and some restaurants and bars. The transfer distance to the city is just 15 minutes by tube.

This hotel is out of Amsterdam Centre, but this is not a problem, as the Metro station is directly opposite the hotel entrance, and takes less than 15 minutes to get to Amsterdam Central Station. The hotel staff are very attentive and polite, and are willing to spend time with you answering questions about the area, and how to get there.
Check in was easy friendly and seamless. The rooms are modern clean and comfortable, with everything you would expect, but the bed was not a king-size, so if that's is what you are used to beware. The appearance of the hotel is very modern, but at the same time very comfortable, with the huge arm chairs in the reception/bar area.
Breakfast was plentiful, cereals, fruit, croissants etc., breads, ham, cheese, yoghurts, eggs, bacon ,sausages, beans, muffins, juices etc., but absolute chaos during the peak time. We stayed for two nights (Friday & Saturday) and the Saturday morning breakfast at 9.30 was chaotically busy. The staff could not refresh the buffet fast enough, there was a shortage of items as soon as they were brought out. There was not enough seating and tables for all the guests who converged on the breakfast room at the same time.
The next morning we came down earlier 8.30, which was much more civilised, with less hassle to collect your choices, but by 9.30 it was chaotic once again. Maybe the hotel reception should warn guests about this on check in, which may encourage guests to spread out a little. Saying this its not a complaint but an observation, and I would defiantly use this hotel to visit Amsterdam again.

Stayed here for one night in June 2013. When we got home we found that we had been charged twice on our credit card. Despite numerous attempts to get the error fixed, the Hotel will not even answer our enquiries. I will certainly not use any establishment with the name Hilton associated with it ever again.

Room Tip: Do not stay unless you are happy to be ripped off.

The main purpose of our visit was to take my elderly parents (mother in a wheelchair) to visit The Rijksmuseum. We chose this hotel as it provided spacious disabled rooms. We were not disappointed. The staff were courteous and helpful (as was everyone in Amsterdam). The rooms are clean and beds comfortable, though we did find the rooms on the hot side, turning the air-con off or down did not really help, despite that we slept ok. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Two good restaurants/cafes very close to the hotel. The hotel ordered a taxi large enough to take the five of us and the wheelchair; the taxi driver, Abdoel (from the firm Businessclass Drivers) was a great help and became, in effect, our private chauffeur! He dropped us to where ever we wanted to visit and we called him when we were finished. A journey to the city centre was around 40 Euro (between 5 wasn't bad value), I asked him if I could recommend him and he said yes, his number (if ringing from Amsterdam) is 0031627494210. For wheelchair users I would also recommend The Blue Boat Canal Cruise, if you ring the day before they will tell you which time to attend to ensure the boat has a wheelchair lift - excellent tour. Whilst my parents could not visit Anne Frank's House they could go into the museum and cafe, here we were all allowed to skip the queue, the staff looked after my parents treating them like royalty while we visited the house. Thank you Amsterdam, you truly are a wheelchair friendly city (though I have to say we did avoid the cobbled streets)!

About 10 stations out of the central area of Amsterdam, which was initially off-putting...but staff service was generally very good, and the breakfast which was included for everyone, surprisingly good...very clean and lots of choice. The rooms were small but new/clean and functional with free wifi for all. Turn left out of the hotel and find a very diverse shopping area with stores and markets, including several supermarkets and fast food stores. Good value. A 24 hour train pass was EURO7.50 each which was also good value. Rotterdam and Schipol airport services leave from the adjacent station, although if you arrive into Amsterdam Central by international or regional train, you need to catch the Metro 10 stations on lne 54 to reach the Hotel.

Room Tip: Lower floor probably better as lifts are small and crowded when busy, thus stairs a better option if...
