This is based on a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. This small brown bar was full without being heaving and we squeezed in to a small table at the back, with much mutual apologising and shuffling up of existing punters. The beer was excellent (as you'd expect) and the gentle buzz of conversation and occasional gentle laughter was infectious. I could have stayed there a very long time indeed. The kind of pit stop you look back on with great fondness and an urge to return. The (generous) cheeses were good too.
