“An Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

I went to Amsterdam at the tail end of July for 5 days, 4 nights. The hotel wasn't easily found by our taxi driver, who really needn't have done more than drop us in the centre of Amsterdam and assure us we'd find it- we found it with no problems at all! The hotel is located just off of Dam Square, so exploring Amsterdam on foot was easily done, and even appeared manageable for my younger sister for whom walking is a great chore! All major attractions are roughly equidistant from Hotel V Nesplein, which makes it an excellent base for coordinating daily itineraries with adequate time for relaxing/changing for meals etc. Staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating, assisting us with directions and such. The rooms are supremely comfortable, with no more than necessary for a city break, but decorated and furnished in such a way as to assure us that we were staying in absolutely the best accommodation possible. Breakfast at the hotel was also excellent, although we pre-paid for a full a breakfast when really just a few items from the menu would have sufficed. The bar is also a pleasant place to enjoy a few drinks even if you aren't staying at the hotel! All in all, we could not have asked for a better place to stay in such a wonderful city.

We had a 3 night stay at Hotel V for our anniversary. It's a 10 min walk from the station and smack bang in the middle of where you need to be!

The hotel itself is very very cool, real nice decor everywhere even in the lifts and our room (205) although on the small side had an amazing bed, huge drench shower and was extremely clean and tidy.

All the staff were helpful and polite and couldn't do enough for you. We ate breakfast in The Lobby every morning and although a touch pricey is well worth it, scrambled eggs were top notch!

Yes you can get cheaper hotels but you won't get much better!

We stayed at hotel v for 2 nights in August. The staff were excellent they were welcoming, helpful, knowledgable, friendly. We ate in the hotel one evening and both the food and service were 1st class. The hotel location is great for sight seeing and is 10 min walk from the central station there are also some nice little bars on the same street. Would definitely reccomend and stay again.

We were in Amsterdam during a huge medical conference so hotel space was at a premium. Our AmEx Travel center found this hotel. What a wonderful surprise. The hotel is in a great area, central to everything in Amsterdam, the room was spacious and well appointed, the shower and bathroom were large and the staff was so friendly and helpful that we went to them each night for restaurant suggestions. They helped us with close to home restaurants and out on the town places. They even directed us to a small but well known jazz club. We loved the food in the restaurant, the servers at the bar and outside patio. Hotel V has it all, as long as you can afford the room rates.

Room Tip: avoid the first floor, we heard chatter from the bar late into the night. try to get street side, th...

Only stopped the one night, wished we'd stayed longer. Great location, central next to Dam Square. Contemporary hotel, clean, very funky and cool! Service was top class. Will definitely stay again. Can't wait to go back.

located in the historic centre of Amsterdam the Station is 850 metres away. about Dam Square and the Royal Palace are 160 metres from V Nesplein. The Anne Frank House is 1 km away. From Dam Square tram stop you have direct links throughout Amsterdam.

This is a fabulous and cool hotel in a fabulous position in a lovely part of the Old Town. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

We just returned from a 2 night stay at Hotel V. It exceeded our expectations! First, the location was ideal for seeing all the sights in Amsterdam. Second, the staff went out of its way to help us get acclimated and to offer suggestions for touring the area. Wendy, at the front desk, and Midas, at the bar, went out of their way to help us and make us feel at home.

The hotel is new, clean, and well designed. We opted for the slightly larger room, and it was very spacious. The king size bed ( 2 twins pushed together) was very comfortable.

i would absolutely go back again. It may not have the opulence of other 5 star hotels, but everything else made it a 5 star experience.
