“Awesome suite and helpful hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

These guys are awesome and very helpful. There suites are very modern and very nicely decorated. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. We had a small cute balcony that looked on to the back of the building. It was very peaceful. The location was also excellent. It was a short walk from Central Station on a quiet street but still very close to many canals and restaurants and attractions. They had a Nespresso coffee maker for your morning coffee and the breakfast they offer is delicious. It's a variety of meats and cheeses and breads from local shops with a large container of amazing freshly squeezed orange juice! Thanks again Godfrey who woke up early to help us get a taxi when we were leaving and assisting us with ideas during our stay. We will stay here next time we are in Amsterdam.

Very pleasant place to stay and good directions to get there (except that the last "left" should be "right.") Delicious breakfast served in bed - a real treat -and enough food for a second meal. Wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night.

We visited this delightful B&B in late Mid July, and have absolutely no complaints. In fact, this place deserves nothing but the highest praise.

I booked the Van Gogh room just 3 weeks prior to our arrival in Amsterdam, despite having the initial intention to book a houseboat for our 3 days in Amsterdam. I am now so glad that the houseboats were unavailable.

Within 2 hours of emailing for a booking, i received a concise and friendly reply from Godfrey regarding booking, and how it could be confirmed. For your information, they require credit card details in order for booking confirmation to proceed, but it will not be charged. It is important to note that it is very clearly stated that they only accept cash on arrival. No problems with me. Next, a very detailed follow-up email (inclusive of pictures and directions) was sent, and thus began our wonderful trip to Amsterdam!

Dennis and Godfrey are perfect hosts. They were very friendly, and their attention to detail was amazing. Their recommendation of their favourite restaurant (Daalder) turned out to be the best dinner we have had in Europe, and i would highly recommend checking it out if you stay at Sjudoransj.

The rooms were spotlessly clean, and extremely well-designed. In fact, we are thinking of modelling our future bedroom according to the room design! Free wifi with good connection, excellent hosts and a great location just outside the heart of Amsterdam makes Sjudoransj very hard to beat. In fact, it would be a shame if one visited Amsterdam and did not experience the epitome of hospitality displayed by Godfrey and Dennis.

On our next trip back, there will only be 1 place we will be staying at. I would highly recommend staying at this B&B during your visit to Amsterdam. Don't miss out!

Thanks to Godfrey and Dennis for a wonderful experience... :)

My 16 year old daughter and stayed at Sjudoransj for 2 amazing weeks in July. Extremely nice and attentive owners who don't impose but are always friendly, helpful, and available. Take breakfast at least once - super cute and delicious (because/but/although Dutch). As for location: I have spent much time in Amsterdam and the Jordaan and particularly this area is the absolute best to call home during a visit. Very safe and centrally located to sights and lots of neighborhood cafés and terraces, grocery stores, interesting restaurants, and almost total absence of vice tourism spoiling parts of the city center. As for rooms: We stayed all but 2 nights in the Vermeer room located in the back which I recommend for more space, larger shower and privacy. The comments about the busy street in front are just not true, you hear birds in the morning, there is no noise at all (and we slept with windows open at all times). Still we found the exposure to across the street neighbors from the front Van Gogh room inconvenient. Few last notes (for us negligible inconveniences but of possible importance to some of you): Mind the steep steps up to the rooms and (for longer stays) no closet space in rooms.

We really enjoyed our journey in Sjudoransj. The neighborhood is really quiet and the confortable bed allows you to sleep very well. There is also a nice balcony and a nice bathroom. Everything is really clean. Besides the breakfast is awesome. We also had a good internet connection thanks to the wifi. The host are adorable and Godfrey offer us a warm welcoming.
We would love to come back as soon as we get back to Amsterdam.

We stayed in Jan of this year for one night. Very nicely designed room with comfortable bed and shower. The area is vivid and in the centre, however quiet. Near good shopping area's (e.g. "Negen Straatjes"). Breakfast included indeed freshly squeezed OJ!

Wow, what a nice place, run by very nice people. We booked both rooms for our family, both were lovely. The Vermeer upstairs is quieter, and has a small balcony overlooking neighbours' gardens, which is a nice bonus. Godfrey and Dennis are excellent, relaxed but accommodating hosts and you will feel very welcome. I think this is one of my all-time favourite places to stay, especially considering the size of the place.

Some things you should know - this is a very small establishment, more a B&B than a hotel. Therefore there is no concierge (although Godfrey is there most of the time), and - most importantly - no credit card machine! There's also no lift, and Amsterdam stairs are steep. If these things matter to you, go spend heaps more money on a big hotel, but you'll be missing out.

I must answer a previous reviewer who complained about the noise in the Van Gogh room - well yes this room is over the street (1st floor), but it's a quiet street considering the central location (10 mins from the station, close to many nice bars and restaurants). We slept in that room for a week, during which Holland played two World Cup matches, and we didn't find the noise problematic at all.

The only problem we have is that we're now both addicted to Nespresso coffee, which is supplied free and ad libidum in both rooms ;-)

All in all, highly recommended.

Room Tip: The Vermeer is (slightly) quieter and has a pleasant balcony
